Overview
Directly between Gstaad and Les Diablerets lies Glacier 3000, one of the most well-known and accessible glaciers in Switzerland. It’s only a 15-minute cable car ride up to 3'000 meters. Nowhere else can you get up to any Swiss glacier that fast. And this panoramic ride alone is in itself already an adventure, offering a view onto the beautiful Saanenland with the Arnensee and the gigantic alpine massif. On top the view opens up and guests can enjoy no less than 24 peaks over 4'000 meters, including Jungfrau, Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. The highlight is the only peak to peak suspension bridge in the world, the Peak Walk by Tissot.

- Cable car and restaurant are both wheelchair accessible, but the Peak Walk by Tissot is not suitable for wheelchair users

- Per the general terms and conditions of Glacier 3000, there can be no reimbursements or ticket extensions for bad weather or situations arising from acts of nature. However, if access to the glacier is not possible because of lift closure due to bad weather conditions, another ticket will be issued for Glacier 3000, or the ticket will be reimbursed.

The peak walk was a thrilling experience. The views all around were awesome. Be careful with the ice express chair lift with young children as it was unattended when I visited.

I was so worried about altitude illness before I left home, so I prepared myself with altitude powder 3 days before I went. No problems at all. I was so worried about altitude illness before I left home, so I prepared myself with altitude powder 3 days before I went. No problems at all. Yes, you will feel winded climbing the steps to the footbridge to the peak but that’s just because you are so high up. Take your time. Bring gloves, winter coat and boots because there is snow. It snowed the day before we got there so it was fresh powder. I was surprised to see people in shorts, and tennis shoes. You can rent coats and boots if necessary. The gondola rides up were amazing. Then the ski lift ride to base camp is quite an experience. But nothing is more breathtaking than the walk to the peak. I felt so proud of myself and so overwhelmed with the beauty before me that I cried. Yup, I admit I had tears. The clouds were just perfect enough to see the Matterhorn in the distance. Wow. I rode the roller coaster and went as slow as possible, because I am a chicken. It was a great day at Glacier 3000. I’m so glad we went.Matthew M

We went as a family of 4 from Geneva. We booked the dog sled ride as extra online. We had booked for Saturday but got a call on Friday from the dog sled co to say it would have to be cancelled due to poor visibility. Thankfully we were able to move our booking to Sunday. We went as a family of 4 from Geneva. We booked the dog sled ride as extra online. We had booked for Saturday but got a call on Friday from the dog sled co to say it would have to be cancelled due to poor visibility. Thankfully we were able to move our booking to Sunday. The weather and views are stunning - blue skies and crisp white snow. The Peak Walk has amazing views. However, the Ice Express ski lift was closed as it was too cold, apparently. There is no way to check this - the webcam showed glorious blue skies. This all meant we couldn't do the dog sled or the glacier walk (both require going down the ski lift). We found this out as we went to go for the skil lift. We had no indication it would be cancelled and still haven't heard from the dog sled co about a refund (no answer when we called). So all we could do is the Peak Walk. 2/3 things closed (plus we knew the two rides were closed). Montreux Christmas Market on the way back was OK, but very, very busy. It made the whole trip extremely expensive and very poor value for money. On the basis that there is no guarantee that anything will be open, we can't recommend it - it's too big a risk leaving a 13 and 15 year and 2 parents very disappointed.
