The statue of the Great Sphinx is also one of the most famous structures of the ancient Egyptian history. Saqqara is one of several other notable necropolis sites near Cairo that offer impressive sights and hold great archaeological significance. The most famous structure there is Djoser’s Step Pyramid. The world's oldest major stone structure. It was built in the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser. It is the first pyramid built in Egypt and it is also the first large-scale cut-stone structure in the world

Memphis which was founded by King Menes, and was the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, it was considered to be a center of rule and culture for over 3000 years the first capital of Egypt. Among the most important monuments in the open museum of Meet Raheena - ruins left from ancient Memphis - are the statue of Ramses II at the entrance and the huge statue of Ramses II which lies on the ground. There is also a statue of Alabaster in the image of the Sphinx and some other monuments.

Our excellent tour guide Nour took us to Memphis, Sakkara and then Giza in one day, arranging a local lunch in between. She managed all the ticketing expertly. Her knowledge and ability to impart her knowledge are exceptional. Two children (aged 10 and 12) loved the smaller pyramids and less crowded sites we were taken to. We enjoyed our day with Nour and her driver so much that we hired them both for a fantastic tour of the museums the next day.
