It was very easy to reserve a tour with the friendly and courteous staff and the e-bikes were so much fun to ride. This is by far the best way to see Galveston Island! The two-hour tour with Aaron was an excellent introduction to Galveston architecture and some of its history. We went past the oldest house on Galveston and discussed the role it played in US entry into WWI. We visited Ursuline convent and learned the sad tale of the nuns and orphans during the 1900 storm. We rode up to the Seawall and out on a jetty to learn why the 1900 storm, which is thought to only be a category 4 storm, was so deadly. I had such a blast on the tour, that I came back the next day and rented a slightly more capable bike for a 4-hour excursion on my own. The bike had enough charge to take me past the Jean Lafitte house, out to the easternmost tip of the island, back down the entire length of the Seawall to its far western end, and then noodling back through the neighborhoods of Galveston where I grew up. Admittedly, the bike was flashing a "low battery" warning at the end of my journey, but I made it back without problem. On my next visit to Galveston, I am ditching my car and renting an e-bike for the duration of my visit! This is a far better way to navigate the crowed Seawall and Strand areas, and it is a great way to get to know the many historic sites. P.S. Although I like Segways, I really think e-bikes are better for Galveston. Instead of standing up for 2 hours, you get to cruise around sitting down, looking at the sites.Aaron did a great job of touching as much history and sites of Galveston that tour time allowed. E-Bike was a fun as well educational experience I would recommend for the family or a group of friends.
