From the very beginning our trip started off the right way with Anoud. He was on time for our 5:15am pick up with great energy. He also gave us a thorough explanation on what the trip would entail. The ride to the reserve was approximately 2.5 hours. Anoud made the ride go by quickly with great conversation and was proactive in allowing us time to step out and stretch. He was waiting for our arrival at the end of the tour and once again gave an explanation on our return trip. We really appreciated how he shared his personal experiences with us and gave us insight on life in South Africa along the journey. On our way back he even passed by Nelson Mandela house which was a nice end to our trip. Many Thanks Anoud! Once on the reserve we were joined by our guide Benny. He went out of his way to ensure we saw as many animals as possible. He has extensive knowledge of the reserve and was able to explain throughly everything we saw. Benny pointed out the small things that would typically overlooked like cheetah prints and the difference between male and female animals. We even had the opportunity to be up close and personal with an elephant! I would highly recommend the tour. A hat, jacket, and scarf and needed during the chilly hours. Thank you again! We could see Lions with its Cubs were awesome experience to see, along with other animimals viz. Elephant, Zebra, Giraffe etc. It was realy enjoyable and wounderuld moment.

Overall, this trip was great, but pack some patience for the ride there! We were picked up at 5:30am by a very friendly driver who had already picked up one couple. It took 2 hours for us to pick up everyone else (including driving all the way to Pretoria to pick someone up who ended up canceling). From there, it's about a 1.5 hr drive to the National Park including a short snack/restroom stop. At the park, we switched over to a safari vehicle and guide and had a great day exploring the park. We saw lots of animals and our guide was fantastic! We had 6 total people in our safari vehicle. There are a few options at the lunch stop, including 2 vegetarian options. This is a great way to spend a day in the Johannesburg area! What an amazing day!
