After reviewing the sample itinerary and reviews, we booked this tour to see as many things as possible while being able to get back to Santiago for dinner. We didn't get any communication with the operator until the night before the tour, and found the experience disorganized and poorly executed. While some things can certainly be attributed to poor behavior by other tour guests, I cannot recommend anyone book this tour if they are interested in meaningful sightseeing. Some examples of what happened below: -We were told to be ready and outside our hotel at 8:25am. After waiting for 15 minutes, I had to reach out to the operator for an update. Our pickup ended up being 30 minutes late. We made two more pick-up stops before embarking and neither guests were ready so this may be attributed to other guests. -The guide announced we'd make a short 10 minute stop on the way to Vina del Mar to use the restroom and get drinks. This stop ended up taking 25 minutes, and was immediately followed up with an unannounced stop at an off-route fuel station for the bus. This further delayed us. -After very brief stops at the Flower Clock and Moai in Vina del Mar (which, oddly, were positioned as "surprises" by the guide despite being included on the sample itinerary), we were dropped at Caleta Portales where the guide promptly lost half our group and didn't explain why we stopped. The wet market smells were overwhelming and the guide had a hard time corralling guests. -We were driven through Valparaiso with almost no opportunity for a walking tour or photos. We only stopped for a brief walk to a meeting point where we were dismissed for lunch with a strict time to return. -Multiple parties didn't return after lunch. We were further delayed for 20+ minutes waiting for the guide to find all guests. We were then rushed to the funicular and informed our tour would be abbreviated to accommodate the winery reservation. -The tour only included one of the three advertised funiculars (acensor). We don't know how much else from the sample itinerary was missed because the guide was not announcing where we were, or what we were seeing. -Our final stop was Bodegas RE for a wine tasting. We booked our tour specifically because Casablanca Valley is known for white wines. The Bodegas RE tasting included three wines, one rose and two reds. There was no tour of the facility but we were rushed to finish and return to Santiago. The guide made an announcement that we took too long during the tour and not all guests would be dropped at their hotels. -On a final note, the driver Brian seemed to have a better grasp on English than the guide Marcel. The guide constantly turned to the driver or other guests for assistance translating. This language barrier likely contributed to the degraded tour experience. Overall, I was unhappy with my purchase of this tour. That being said, I'm sure other travelers with more mindful groups and better tour guides would have a better experience.Highly recommend this trip as Danny, our guide, was most informative, funny and invested in sharing the culture of the area. Unfortunately, it was Monday and the funiculars were closed but Danny had us walking the streets with all the beautiful murals. This tour was amazing! Danny was very informative and funny. He took great pictures that I will keep as a great memory from my trip to Chile 🇨🇱Our driver got lost a few times, extending this already long day by a few hours. The tour guide was nice, but it felt like we were stopping at some mundane places so she could smoke.
