One of Queensland's best beaches for good reason. Wrapped around granite boulders and swaying palm trees, this is an ideal spot for a swim, short walk to an iconic lookout and just to sit and take in the picturesque scenery. You will enjoy this spot for morning tea with fresh fruit, biscuits, lamingtons, 5 varieties of tea, chai, milo, cordial, coffee and water refills available all day.

These views! Take a 360' look at this stunning coastline, over the islands and across the historical town of Bowen including Northhead Lighthouse built in 1867. A must stop for any traveler visiting Bowen.

Add the Big Mango to your list you can tick off with the iconic 'Big Things' across Australia. At 10 metres tall and painted the colour of the Kensington mango it's a fun place to eat afternoon tea and have a look through the award winning Tourist Center.

Bowen is becoming more recognized for its tropical secluded beaches, seafood, mango's, history, murals and natural features and Hollywood movies. Driving 1 hour north through the countryside and sugar cane in air conditioned comfort we will be stopping and enjoying the best of the region including the magnificent large fig trees. Bowen is sure to wow and suprise you.

We did the Cape Gloucester full day tour with one other couple. Driftwood was recommended to us by Geoff at Shipley Beach Resort and totally lived up to the high praise. Cherene is so knowledgeable about the area and is passionate about what she does - great commentary throughout the tour. She is very engaging, established a great rapport with us very quickly (we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and the other couple, their 40th). Cherene is an amazing guide and took us to some places many visitors never see or know about. Highly recommend this lively and lovely lady and her small business.I absolutely enjoyed this trip, seen many beautiful places and Cherene was just joy to spend the day with. Very cheerful, positive, helpful and most of all very knowledgeable, which made her the best guide for the day. Definitely recommend this trip.

We loved our day to Bowen with Cherene as our guide. The day was relaxing, fun and informative. We visited Murray and Horseshoe Bay Beach. (We chose to snorkel at both and enjoyed seeing various coral and fish) Our tour included the Rotary lookout, the highlights of Bowen, lunch at Bowen Fisherman Seafood Coop ( so fresh and yummy) and of course a photo at the Big Mango Cherene’s enthusiasm, sense of fun, professional approach and knowledge of the area and its history made the trip a highlight of our time in Airlie. We enjoyed our day so, so much we also did the Cape Gloucester Tour and the Airlie tour with Cherene. We recommend you do at least one of the Driftwood Tours early in your stay to learn about the area.
