Toledo has had a wall from the Romans, which had to be rebuilt by the Visigoth King Wamba in 674. The current wall is of Arab origin where we can find some Roman remains.
King Alfonso VI, is granted the completion of the works of the wall in 1085, after reconquering the city.
Toledo has always had a great wall, well known throughout its history, taking center stage its entrance and exit doors, such as the Puerta de Bisagra, the Puerta de Alfonso VI or the Puerta del Cambrón.
Stop At: Plaza De Zocodover, Toledo Spain
The Plaza de Zocodover is a square of the city of Toledo. It was the nerve center of the city during most of its history, acting as its main square. A part of it was designed by Juan de Herrera in times of the reign of Felipe II

What a great place to visit. Amazing history, sights and buildings. A must see, short drive to and from Madrid. We learned a lot from our tour guide Christine. She’s really good. Fun and tickets agency is organized - no issues with them. Transportation is very comfortable. They did a good job.

The headsets were not good- we only heard half of what was said. Also, the English speaking group had at least 40 people in it( too big) whereas the Spanish speaking group had only 10 people. The group size makes a big difference on the quality of the experience.

Positives were: - overview and broad coverage of the old town by bus was good, coupled with quite a fair bit of walking which focused on the unique historical areas there - guide was knowledgeable, willing to share and cheerful Areas to improve were: - guide spoke in Spanish and English to the f...
Positives were: - overview and broad coverage of the old town by bus was good, coupled with quite a fair bit of walking which focused on the unique historical areas there - guide was knowledgeable, willing to share and cheerful Areas to improve were: - guide spoke in Spanish and English to the fairly large group..may be better to have two guides for the two different language groups, for better communication and understanding - she should wait for the older folk in the group as we were walking up and down the hilly paths with cobblestones; luckily I was walking with my adult daughter - transmitters and receivers should be tested prior to tour? Guide had to change her microphone as her commentary kept breaking off initially - toilet break for such a large group should be in a place large enough, so the group would not need to wait too long in the heat/cold - all guides should have a placard or standee to indicate specific tour group, as there were several large tour groups queuing at the meeting locationlindagD5096RM

Fun trip, but very difficult to understand the transition from Spanish to English, due to her accent. Felt that the group was too large. Tried to fit in to many sites in one day, but Thought the guide was very personable.
