Overview

Montserrat, a Mountain, a Monastery, a Sanctuary

Montserrat is a very spectacular mountain from a geological point of view, it is also a holy mountain for the Christians and houses both, a Benedictine Monastery which is about to celebrate 1000 years since it was founded, and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montserrat. During this full-day tour, you will explore the Abbey of Montserrat, you will have the chance to venerate "La Moreneta" the black Madonna of Montserrat, you will have time to do an easy hike to admire the amazing views from St Michael's cross or to take the funicular that takes you to the top of the mountain. If you prefer focusing on art, you can visit the Art Museum. The highlight of your visit will be the Boy's Choir performance before the lunch break.

1-hour train trip to Montserrat to go up in the mountain by Cable Car and return by Rack railway train. If you choose the van/bus option, you still will be going up and coming down by Cable Car unless you do not wish to.

David was the perfect guide for Montserrat and his knowledge of the tour was incredible. He knew so many facts and information that only a guide with an interest in sharing knowledge would know. Despite the rain at times , he altered activities to accommodate the weather but we still were able to...
