Stop At: Purmamarca, Purmamarca, Province of Jujuy, Northern Argentina
Purmamarca is a town in the province of Jujuy, in northwestern Argentina. It is located at the base of a spectacular multi-colored hill called Cerro de los Siete Colores. From the villa, the Paseo de los Colorados trail heads to the surrounding desert landscapes where there are views of the mountain. Adobe houses line the streets, and Plaza 9 de Julio is home to a popular craft market. Nearby is the centuries-old Santa Rosa de Lima church.
At this stop you will have the opportunity to have lunch.

Salinas Grandes is the name of a salt flat in the Argentine provinces of Jujuy or Puna in northwestern Argentina
The Salinas Grandes are one of the 10 Best Landscapes on Route 40.
Located on the old trace of Route 40, they cover 212 km2 of surface. Its white bed of salt is 3, 400 meters above sea level.
At the end of our visit here, we will return to Salta.

On time pick up from the hotel. Loved every minute of the tour. Prepare for a long bus ride though. Long day ( pick up at 6.30 am, drop off at 7.30 pm), but absolutely worth it. No English speaking guide even though English tour was bookedDanely P

The tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The group was very friendly we had an awesome time. It was 12 hours but didn’t felt like it.

L' escursione permette di visitare non solo le grandi saline ma anche la Montagna dei sette colori ed il paesino di Purmamarca. Giornata faticosa ma dalle ricche esperienze e pertanto la consiglio. L' escursione permette di visitare non solo le grandi saline ma anche la Montagna dei sette colori ed il paesino di Purmamarca. Giornata faticosa ma dalle ricche esperienze e pertanto la consiglio. Vi auguro però di essere più fortunati di me con la guida. A me è capitata come guida un signore, direi non giovanissimo, che ha chiaramente finito l' entusiasmo e quindi è stato parco di informazioni limitandosi proprio al minimo. Ritengo poi che abbia gestito malissimo i tempi: troppo poco alle grandi saline che sono il cuore dell' escursione (40 minuti) e decisamente troppo al paesino di Purmamarca ( 2 ore). Questo ha squilibrato la visita rispetto all' intera durata della giornata.
