The hometown of Honoré de Balzac is proud of its districts "Cathedral" and "Plumereau". The small cobbled streets, the half-timbered houses, or the mineral facade of the monumental Saint-Gatien cathedral give the city an attractive medieval hue.
The architecture of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Hotel Gouïn, the castle of Tours, the Cloister of Psalette or the Basilica of St. Martin are not left out. Visiting tours comfortably installed in a sidecar will offer you a pleasant journey back in time.

Nicknamed the castle of the "Sleeping Beauty", the castle of Ussé was erected from the 15th to the 18th century, on the banks of the Indre.
The castle of Ussé is the only private castle of the great castles of the Loire to be still inhabited by the same family for more than two centuries.
Furnished and inhabited by its owner, the Duke of Blacas, it also has beautiful French gardens and a Renaissance chapel.

Bourgueil is in the heart of the vineyards of Touraine, on the slopes of the Loire Valley, producing famous red wines that were celebrated by Ronsard, Rabelais and Honoré de Balzac in Master Cornelius (1831) where Louis XI asks "we make him serve good Bourgueil wine at the table ".

Impressive medieval stronghold encamped on an eminence overlooking the Vienne, the fortress of Chinon was the scene of the historic audience granted by Charles VII to Joan of Arc in 1429. Recently, the royal lodgings, reconstituted, came out of limbo at the price of major works. Below, an authentic medieval city stretches its streets. And beyond, the country of Rabelais, and its famous vineyards, extends your arms.

Stop At: Azay-le-Rideau, Azay-le-Rideau, Indre-et-Loire, Centre-Val de Loire

Built from 1518 to 1527 by Gilles Berthelot, the castle of Azay-le-Rideau is a marvel of grace and whiteness, dominated by turrets that still recall the medieval era. Built partially on the Indre, this gem has one of the first staircases with straight ramp - the Italian -, a decor and furniture of great richness that are distinguished by an exceptional quality and a magnificent set of tapestries of 16th and 17th century. Around the building, an English park of 8 ha was made from 1810.
