I am Australian and have been living in Bordeaux for about 4 years. One of my visiting friends pleaded with me to do this tour with them while they were visiting, and I am so glad they did! Living in Bordeaux, I can truely say that this tour enables a complete, authentic immersion into Bordeaux wine culture and food. Each vendor we visited had expert knowledge, and answered all questions with a smile. The quality of the wine was incredible, and the provided lunch was truely an authentic French apero style lunch - delicious !! Lastly, we were given the chance to create our own wine! This is a super opportunity, and really fun. We got to create our own wine, cork them ourselves, as well as create our own labels. A very cool keep sake! Nothing was touristy - everything was very authentic ! The host John was kind, thoughtful, approachable and knowledgeable. In fact, the day we had the tour was 30 degrees, and he thoughtfully brought water, sunscreen and mist spray for all guests! The bus driver was also so kind and thoughtful. His wife is a pastry chef and he actually brought us pastries she had cooked for us all! So kind. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bordeaux!! My friend and I had the best time! Thank you Devour tours for an experience I will never forget!Awesome tour! We visited 3 small, family owned wine producers in St Emilion and Entre Deux Mers. Awesome tour! We visited 3 small, family owned wine producers in St Emilion and Entre Deux Mers. They were all so warm, inviting and enthusiastic - and all had different styles of wine which was interesting. We did tastings at each, toured the grounds and visited the cellars. We got to be mixologists and create our own blend at the last winery which was unique and fun! Lunch was a feast of local produce - delicious and very authentic. The overall experience was intimate and just felt special. Jonathan, the guide, was the highlight :) Very welcoming, fun to chat with, and passionate about his home country and this region particularly. It felt like a curated day out with friends and a local who knew the best spots. Highly recommend!!I did the Bordeaux wine tasting tour which allowed us to visit two wine regions - Saint Emilion and Entre-Deux-Mers. I did the Bordeaux wine tasting tour which allowed us to visit two wine regions - Saint Emilion and Entre-Deux-Mers. We visited three chateaus and tasted 8 wines overall of both red and white varietals. The first stop was at Château Grand Verdus. The location was exquisite and our host for the session, Elodie, was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned about the family that runs the business and got to enjoy a picnic style lunch on the grounds. The spread was delicious - cheese, meats, spreads, baguettes, veggies and seasonal fruits for dessert. The ambiance of this location was my highlight of the tour. The second location was Château Guadet which felt like a secret garden in the heart of St Emilion. You enter a classic French home and through the rear you enter a gorgeous garden full of bird life and roses. Our host Vincent was lively and funny. He has lived a full life learning about wine in Chile and Australia and brings a worldly wisdom to his presentation. We explored the wine cave where they had wine from exceptional years including the 70’s. The tour ended in the tasting room where we tasted exceptional reds. The last stop was Chateau Cormeil-Figeac where we ended the day being our own mixologists! We were able to blend our own perfect merlot, bottle it, cork it and label it! I would be remiss without mentioning our exceptional guide Jonathan. He was helpful, encouraging and a perfect balance of information without being too technical. It was s perfect day of wine and fun and as it was a small group it felt like a perfect girls trip.Wonderful visit about Bordeaux wines thanks to Jonathan, a charming guide with an impressive culture
