Overview
An intensive day of surfing aimed at people wanting to learn lots of techniques in a short period of time.
This includes 2 x 2 hour surf lessons, which can be taken over 1 or 2 days as required .
The lessons will be tailored to your individual level of surfing guaranteeing you get the most out of the session.
For beginners on a first lesson your coach will introduce all of the skills and techniques necessary to surf with control and safety. By the end of the second lesson you should be catching waves unaided and standing consistently
If you have already surfed, you can then use these sessions to build on more advanced techniques, including paddling, turning and catching unbroken green waves.

We meet at Escape Surf School, in Newquay, which is located overlooking Towan beach on the premises of Belushis / St Christophers Inn.

For both sessions, we spend approximately 20 minutes on the beach discussing safety, technique, skills etc. then the remaining time is spent in the ocean catching waves, with hands-on coaching from our surf coaches. After 2 hours, you will have a break, then back into the water for the second session. If required, and if availability allows, you are able to split the 2 surf lessons, over 2 days.
We always split the groups based on your ability, so if you have already surfed, then you will join an improver or intermediate group.

- Not recommended for travelers with back problems
- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
- Not wheelchair accessible
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- After booking, Escape Surf School will contact you with the start (meeting) time (this can vary depending upon tides and conditions)
- Subject to favourable surf conditions. If cancelled due to poor conditions (ie dangerous), you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
- Near public transportation
- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- Face masks required for travelers in public areas
- Face masks required for guides in public areas
- Hand sanitizer available to travelers and staff
- Regularly sanitized high-traffic areas
- Gear/equipment sanitized between use

Skate session was awesome, I felt I really understood what position I need to be in for surfing, it felt like a massive shortcut in the learning curve of that, just to practice doing it now! Immaculate smart comfortable facilities, such an awesome friendly welcoming team and everyone on the course, delicious food, video and photo feedback, just jam packed amazing weekend of learning, lively people, amazing waves, so much surf knowledge shared with us, can’t rate Escape Surf School high enough, thank you all so much, what you do is fantastic! Honestly, we couldn't of asked for a better surf school and definitely the best in Newquay . We have been back multiple times - Reuben, Mike, lyndsey, sim, Glenn, Henry are all amazing and we will be coming back for years to come! Shaun and Emma

Our 2 teenage sons 14 and 15 absolutely loved their surf lessons with Escape. They had never surfed before and by the end of the first lesson were getting up and standing on the boards. The instructors were very professional and friendly..We will be back for more lessons when we return to Newquay.

My teenage daughter and her friend did 2 half days. Not a huge amount of surf but they had amazing fun. My daughter had had a session at a different surf school previously and had found it frustrating and hard and not managed to stand up. This was so much more rewarding. She learnt much quicker, ...
My teenage daughter and her friend did 2 half days. Not a huge amount of surf but they had amazing fun. My daughter had had a session at a different surf school previously and had found it frustrating and hard and not managed to stand up. This was so much more rewarding. She learnt much quicker, was a lot more confident and loved it. Would definitely go back. Easy to book and staff friendly. My only slight 'issue' was that on day 2 there seemed to be a number of people in their group who were struggling to stand up, so the girls got little attention and were left to themselves for much of the session, although it didn't spoil their overall enjoyment.
