This is a World Heritage site that reminds us of the history of Renaissance period. It tells the history of the Portuguese, the Arabs and the British era back in the 15th Century.
MOMBASA OLD TOWN.
In Old Town village, You will venture into the Swahili Culture and the Arab's architectural designs of the wood carvings doors and balconies that shows the influence of the Arabs back in the 16th Century.
MACKINNON MARKET.
The narrow streets of Old Town leading all the way to the mackinnon market; famously known for the natural spices. The market was built for slave trade by the British in 1914.11
THE CURIO SHOPS.
When visiting the Old Town, you'll see so many curio or gifts shops where you can buy souvenirs.
THE ELEPHANTS TASKS.
You will also see the famous landmark of Mombasa that's known as the Elephants Tusks or commonly known as Pembe za Ndovu that's reminds us of the visit of Queen Elizabeth. They are located at the heart of Mombasa city along the Moi Avenue road.

In fact mrs Bishamba was very kind and guided us to places where the locals were and we would not have managed to get there alone. I was there with my family and we were all really amazed by the things we were shown and felt safe during our trip. We had opportunity to try local coffee, tea and snacks, which were very delicious, you must try it !We enjoyed our time exploring the sites, sounds and smells of the authentic Mombasa. We enjoyed our time exploring the sites, sounds and smells of the authentic Mombasa. Bishamba was such an amazing tour guide taking us through the history of Fort Jesus and leading us on a walk around the old town. The highlight was the trip through the oldest market where we got to sample a number of tastes of local spices and snacks. There were also many stops at local shops along the way with the standout one being the Imani collection which sells craft from from various people as part of a youth empowerment project. Bishamba was ever so generous with her time and knowledge. Her bubbly personality made the experience feel less touristy and more like a walk around with a friend.
