Taberna Flamenca El Cortijo is situated in a traditional flamenco neighbourhood of Madrid. Our philosphy is to provide quality, authentic and reasonably priced flamenco entertainment to both the locals and visitors alike by inviting some of Madrid's top flamenco artists to perform. As a tablao with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere it is the perfect choice for a night out with friends or family. Watch the show while enjoying a drink of your choice (Sangria, beer, wine or soft drink)

Definitely recommend attending this wonderful flamenco show! The performers were all amazing and very talented. The emotions in the dancing and singing was captivating. Everyone was very attentive and friendly. Only recommendation is to provide more clarification for foreigners on the clapping etiquette. We were engaged with the show and would definitely return! The reviews led us to this show. Price was a surprise (low) and I think in hindsight an incredible deal! The location is misleading in the back of a main street and down a flight of stairs. Upon entering 20 min early we found one of the dancers instructing a few early patrons on the techniques and history of Flamenco. Some of our party joined in and it was informing and fun. We had some Sangria and house wine, ordered a cheese and cured meat plate. All that was good and the show started! In our party was a dancer, a music reacher (classical background) and several individuals who appreciate art, physical ability and the work it takes to achieve excellence! We were all blown away. The musicians and dancers were personable, fun, engaging and most importantly - skilled to the nth degree. I have such vivid memories of us looking at each eather remarking how amazing to see them do what the do. I cannot judge Flamenco at a technical level, only the enjoyment we had at watching artist exercise their skill with excellence but also with enjoyment and dragging the small crowd along every “step of the way” Well done. Definitely for a bucket list. It was a pleasant surprise to get to visit a Tablao outside of the touristic center area but still close to center. We decided to take a taxi but it is easily reached by Metro. Taxi man explained on our way there that Vallecas is a local neighborhood from Madrid. You feel the difference from the center as you approach the area but it made us feel like we were entering the real side of locals in Madrid. We arrived a bit earlier and got to seat in the terrace for a drink before the show. We got to breath, listen and experience a calmed and familial neighborhood with a mix of old and young locals that made us feel safe. I must say that all the experience surpassed our expectations. Audience was a mix of tourists and locals and to the best of surprises I honestly can’t single out a person in the show. All performers were absolutely outstanding. Passionate and high quality performance...in the end we wanted more. Price was cheaper than other shows in the center and treatment was warm and caring. To finish the night the owner helped us call a taxi when we were ready to leave and taxi arrived within minutes. We left with the best experience of one of the best flamenco show I've seen at the heart and soul of a local neighborhood of Madrid. We had one of the most amazing experiences in Spain. The flamenco show was ecstatic; the members of the team were strongly bonded to each other and they could transfer this vibe to the audience. They were also very friendly; they came to speak to us; they were very open, approachable, smiley, talkative and we could definitely say that they love what they are doing. We couldn’t take our eyes off them while they were dancing. Passion, energy and love for the dance of flamenco were the main emotions of the night. We can’t wait to come back to see them!
