What to expect
Family Adventures specialise in soft adventure trips, rafting the upper reaches of the famous Shotover River near Queenstown. Our trip by bus and raft is a unique way to experience the wonderful backcountry we have close by in Queenstown, and is suitable for everyone from 3 years upwards. Water confidence is NOT necessary.

Family adventures was a great experience for our four boys (aged 15, 12, 10 and 6) and us. The ride into the canyons was awesome as was the rafting. Simon, Mark and Holly were great hosts.

Would recommend for family with young kids. Good length activity for the money compared to most of Queenstowns activities

Simon was fantastic at explaining the beautiful geological features while also keeping it playful with the kids. The landscape is just unreal. If you have kids and are visiting Queenstown, this is an absolute must!!!This was the best part of our trip to the south island. The drive through the canyon, whoo whoo. The rafting!! This was my favorite activity that we did in Queenstown. I have never been rafting before and this experience was safe, fun and beautiful. The weather was so lovely, the water clear and crystal blue. We had an awesome guide Mark who gave us heaps of information on the mining for gold in Queenstown. And Holly who drove us to and from the rafting location. We got to do some cliff jumps into the river and swimming in the refreshing waters. Wonderful experience and 10/10 will recommend to family and friends. Definitely safe for families with kids or people like myself who want a gentle introduction to river rafting.
