I've always wanted to visit Fallingwater and it was well worth the trip. It rained the entire time we were there, but it didn't spoil the trip. What a beautiful setting and house.

A mind expanding trip into a genius work by a genius architect. Very satisfying and soothing. It was well worth the time. We enjoyed this immensely and so happy we took the opportunity to see one of the most remarkable dwellings ever.

Book your visit to tour the inside of the house ahead of time! The week before the trip it looked like there would be plenty of spots available, but when we got there they were fully booked. Even so, we did pay to see the grounds -- which turned out to be every bit as satisfying - we could walk around the outside for pictures, see into the living room and other parts of the home, and talk with the grounds staff about the history of the place. Well worth a day trip from Pittsburgh, but we were passing through on our way home to Michigan from Washington DC and chose to stay overnight at the Smith House Inn 25 minutes away. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and a great way to break up the trek home!.We highly recommend Fallingwater. It is a national treasure, is well maintained and the guides are very well informed.
