What to expect
Complete 5 specialized adventure dives. Each of them is different and devoted to a specific underwater activity.
Theoretical and practical parts:
During your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course less time will be devoted to the theoretical part, compared to the PADI Open Water Diver course, as you are already a certified diver and familiar with the basics of diving!
There are no quizzes or exams! You will need to read through the 5 relevant chapters of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual and complete the knowledge reviews relating to those chapters. Before each adventure dive you will also receive a detailed briefing where your PADI instructor will share their own experience regarding the adventure dives you choose to do.
There are 5 dives included in the course and 2 of those are mandatory:
Deep dive
You will dive to a depth of 30 meters and learn how to control your air consumption during the deep diving.
Underwater Navigation
You will improve your underwater navigation skills; learn how to use a dive compass and spot visual landmarks.
Choose the remaining 3 adventure dives of your choice based on your own interests in diving:

It was my first diving experience, I had 11 dives and now wondering why I haven't tried diving earlier in my life. But I'm happy, I finally had. And of course I would like to mention my instructor, Nelly Varlygina, she is an absolutely fantastic person and instructor, she puts a great effort in what she does and goes beyond every day to make sure you really enjoy your dives. Wir hatten uns schon von Deutschland aus mit der Basis in Verbindung gesetzt. Da wir auf Kho Samui unseren Urlaub geplant hatten, haben wir gleich über die Basis den Kurs, eine Unterkunft und den Transfer gebucht - also rundum-sorglos-Paket. Hat alles super geklappt. Kontakt über WhatsApp, Transfer mit dem Katamaran incl. Abholung vom Hotel, super. Vom Pier bis zur Basis ist es ein kleines Stück zu laufen. Da wir unsere eigene Ausrüstung mit hatten, war das etwas anstrengend. In der Basis wurden wir schon erwartet. Der Schreibkram war schnell erledigt, dabei lernten wir gleich unseren Tauchlehrer Efim kennen. Wir waren zu dritt in der AOWD-Gruppe und es wurde keine Zeit verschwendet. Kurz in die Unterkunft (einfach aber sauber und ordentlich und ganz in der Nähe) und ab ging es aufs Boot. Es standen gleich drei Tauchgänge ( incl. Nachttauchgang) an. Efim nahm sich viel Zeit, beobachtete uns, gab Tipps und verbesserte uns konsequent. Man fühlt sich absolut sicher. Kho Tao ist nicht unbedingt ein wunderschönes, buntes Tauchgebiet, aber es gibt viele Tauchschulen hier und damit auch viele Taucher. Manche halten es sehr leger mit Badehose und wildem Hin und Her. Bei Scuba Birds sieht das anders aus. Die Ausrüstung ist in Ordnung, die Boote nicht sehr groß, aber die Gruppen gehen so von Bord, dass man sich nicht in die Quere kommt. Der AOWD besteht ja aus 5 Tauchgängen und der Theorie, die man selbständig büffeln muss. Ist aber gut schaffbar. Die Tauchgänge kann man nicht frei wählen, zwei sind eh festgelegt. Die Praxis war ganz schnell erledigt und nach Abschluss der Theorie dauerte es nur einen Tag, bis wir unser Brevet hatten. Alles in allem war es für uns eine schöne und lehrreiche Zeit. Nochmals danke an die gesamte Basis, die Crew und besonders an Efim.Прошёл у них курс, OWD referral & AOWD. Прошёл у них курс, OWD referral & AOWD. Жил на Самуи, они организовали трансфер, размещение в отеле и обратный трансфер, на борту всегда фрукты, чай, кофе, печеньки. На борт брал с собой жену и ребёнка, так на 3 день и жена пошла нырять, хотя боялась погружаться, а после влюбилась) Сам курс проходил со Златой, мастер одним словом, всегда всё объяснит, разложит по полоскам. Были на ночном погружение, наиболее запоминающиеся совсем в другой красе подводный мир предстаёт. Ещё раз спасибо команде, вы молодцы, продолжайте в том же духе. И не мало важно, ценник у них наиболее разумный, когда узнавал цены на Самуи, так мне пару тысяч за курс выше предлагали и просили отдельно за сертификат сверху 2 тысячи...Awesome team: boat crew, office and brilliant dive instructors.
