What to expect
Lofoten’s nature has unique and spectacular contrasts and kayaking is a great way to experience these. When you embark in a sea kayak you practically sit on the surface of the sea and can navigate it using your own bodily strength. The combination of silence, raw nature on all sides, and full freedom of motion, makes sea kayaking one of our most popular adventures.
The evening light makes the experience extra special and the light for photography is brilliant. You will appreciate Lofoten’s dramatic mountains from a wholly new perspective when you paddle up close to them. It is an experience almost as majestic as standing on top of them.
We use stable double kayaks on our trips.
Our guide meets you at our base in Svolvær harbour and provides you with the necessary instructions and adjusts your equipment for the trip.
The trip is tailored to suit those who wish to try out kayaking or who have little experience, but you must be able to swim for safety reasons. The area we kayak from Svolvær harbour is calm, and well suited for beginners.
If you have a camera you are welcome to bring it. You will find many opportunities to take great pictures.

Hicimos varias paradas en las cuales Cristina y el otro monitor nos daban explicaciones. Tuvimos la gran suerte de cruzarnos con un tiburón y fue una experiencia única y maravillosa. sin duda recomiendo este paseo en kayak con XXLofoten. We were fortunate enough to have a good weather day for this outing. It happened to be the one sunny day we had in 9 days in Lofoten. The weather certainly helps to add to the enjoyment of the trip but it is not entirely necessary. If the seas are swelling, it’s unlikely this trip will go on as you do kayak out of the safety of the harbor for some of the trip. Having kayak experience is not necessary for this trip but it will become completely obvious on the trip who has done it before vs. who has not. This I would say is an entry level kayak excursion and those with a lot of experience and looking for a more adventurous trip may want to seek other options. It is still of course very cool to kayak in this area and look all around at the amazing scenery that Lofoten has to offer. Also great is doing this “night” kayak experience in daylight during the summer when the sun is not setting.Kjempefin tur med super og kunnskapsrik guide.
