Stop At: McLaren Falls Park, Tauranga New Zealand
Enjoy light refreshments on the Edge of Lake McLaren prior to departing in double kayaks into the sunset. Here you will discover the birdlife settling for the evening and the gentle splashes of fish (trout) breaking the surface for the final evenings meal. You then paddle to the head of the lake and transition from daylight to darkness through dusk. this is when the stars start coming into view and the glow worms begin to pop from the native bush on the cliffs.

Fabulous experience. Magical night of stars and glowworms. An easy pace paddle in darkness with excellent guides. Well organised and entertaining. Dress warm and I'd take the offered spray jacket and skirt. Keeps you a bit drier when your paddle partner plays games.

We got really lucky and it was a stunning, clear evening for our tour. The kayaking is easy enough that people with no experience can participate. Would highly recommend the experience, especially for a date night!Honestly, our family had such a good time. We learnt a lot and we had a great tour guide last night. A few laughs here and there. The rain and the atmosphere and the glow worms were just amazing and peaceful. We would definitely come back again and recommend it to other families to experience.
