We Wheel is a winner. We’re experienced e-bikers from Colorado and on a whim took a shot booking a tour. Like another glowing reviewer, our guide Jamie was full of information and adjusted our route a bit to avoid some blustery weather. Galway is most definitely not a bike friendly city, but the routes Jamie took us on avoided the narrow busy streets. The night before the owner of We Wheel called asking if we could adjust out tour time and I appreciated both his customer service and flexibility. Their location was fairly easy to find and it has both a street entrance and one from an indoor mall. For the season they have brand new Rad Power bikes which were comfortable and well suited for a city tour. The real master stroke is the Sena helmets. We have Senas ourselves and they have built-in bluetooth intercoms so you can hear the guide and talk to each other. As they are used to saying in Ireland, “brilliant.” Anyone comfortable on a bike will easily enjoy this tour. If you’re not in strong biking shape the electric power will make it super easy. Though we are big walkers, we covered so much more area with the bikes. It’s a phenomenal way to be outdoors and truly enjoy the city. From the equipment, to the deeply personal and informative tour, this was a true first class experience. We only booked the day of and it was basically a private tour. We only booked the day of and it was basically a private tour. Our guide was very good but it was a little nervy at times riding along with the traffic. Overall a very good time but I took off a star because finding the shop itself was a true challenge. Nothing is at the gps coordinates given on the voucher and the one door to shop is really on the next street over and the “front” door is inside a little plaza so you can’t see it from the street that is listed as the street adress. Adding some additional landmarkers to get customers in to the plaza where the shop is would be very helpful. A fun time once on the bikes!!Mairtin and Blake were outstanding tour guides. We had three different fitness levels in our group and our guides were able to take us on routes that highlighted popular sites/pubs and less known but recommended attractions while ensuring we could physically handle the outing. Hiighly recommend!

Great way to see and learn about the city before you explore in more detail. The e-bike tour covers so much of the city and surrounding villages in a short time period, allowing you to make a more informed decision as to where you should concentrate the remainder of your visit - based on your own interests, whether it be neighborhoods, historic locations, restaurants & pubs, or cultural sights. The guides are locals who grew up or attended university in Galway. They give you great information and advice. I was thrilled to go along canals and bike paths that walking tours just can't cover. Highly recommended for anyone who can keep their balance on a bicycle and pretend to pedal! Very low-impact for all ages.
