Elaboration of artisan cheese from Menorca in Binissuès
Overview
The Binissuès madonna, dressed in period clothing, will make an authentic artisan cheese from the island with visitors, using traditional techniques and utensils, as our grandparents did.
Likewise, the visitor will learn how people lived in the past by visiting the stately and country houses (preserved as they were for more than 100 years), visiting the ethnological collection of old country utensils (to understand what everyday life was like). day of peasants and lords in Menorca) and the Island's Museum of Natural Sciences (where you can appreciate the rich biodiversity existing on the island and throughout the world).

What to expect
The visitor will witness the complete process of making an artisan cheese from Menorca with traditional techniques and utensils, just like our grandparents did. And while the milk is curdling, you will visit the houses of Binissuès, preserved as true museums of the last century, the ethnological collection of old farm tools and the island's Museum of Natural Sciences, with a wide collection of species from Menorca and from all over the world.

We visited this lovely place recently and really loved our experience there. It was so well done and the lady there was so so lovely. We got to see how the cheese is made. I was really wanting to have a go at forming the cheese but didn't as I was nervous but we will definitely go there again and I will have a go next time. The house itself is lovely and I really enjoyed the little video they have representing the people who used to live there. So many interesting things to see. Mushroom 🍄 collection's Butterfly 🦋 collection's insect's🐜 collection's bird's🐦 bee's 🐝, spider's 🕷️ scorpion's 🦂, fish🐠 every thing you can think of. Plus the way they used to.live and utensils they once used in every day life. The grounds themselves are beautiful. It really was such an interesting visit. We brought locally made cheese from a family who produces cheese very close by to the place itself. All in all a wonderful experience and certainly well worth doing.
