As the financial capital of China, Shanghai attracts millions of migrants who bring their local culinary traditions and ingredients with them. As the sun sets, join UnTour Food Tours as we explore the best local and regional cuisines the city has to offer, paired with local beers, spirits (or soft drinks) in a centrally-located, authentic residential neighborhood. Taste local dishes from the Shanghai Jiangnan area, as well as southern and northwest China & Sichuan. Explore just how different regional Chinese foods can be on this evening Shanghai food tour!

Stop At: Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road), Nanjing East Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai 200000 China
Explore the neighborhood just north of the famous Nanjing Road. Known for its colonial history during the Republic of China, this area of Shanghai was home to some of the city's most famous locals and expats during the 1920s and 1930s.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Jing'an Temple, Jing'an Temple, Shanghai
End your tour a stone's throw from historic Jing'an Temple. You can hop on the subway from there, or explore the bars in the neighborhood. Your guide will be happy to give you recommendations!

What a fantastic way to spend 3 hours! I've been living in Shanghai for over 10 years and I must say this tour opened my eyes to such much that I have been missing out on: the history, the preparations, the flavors, the characters, and the all the hidden gems that were unknown to me. The sad part is I'm about to return to the US and wished I spent more time at the restaurants and businesses UnTour took me to. I can confidently say I won't be getting anything like that outside of Shanghai. And even for the people in Shanghai, I'm afraid some of these places will disappear with time as the older generation retires. This is why I feel like it was such a treat and privilege to have been able to experience it and learn from the incredible team at UnTour. Money well spent and looking forward to another tour with UnTour before I leave town forever. I highly recommend this tour if you’d like to discover cuisine from around China.I was a bit nervous about doing this tour alone but it ended up being a lot of fun! The food was delicious, the people were all very friendly to talk with and the guides (Patrick and ShanShan) were very informative! Overall a great experience.
