Discover sights which are hidden away from the public eye, and admire the church of Ypapanti.The footpaths have a long tradition as for many hundreds of years they were the only form of roads leading to the monasteries. You can find different forms of human modifications along the paths either with carved stairs etc. or wooden stairs helping the transportation of equipment and everyday needs.

- Pets are not allowed to enter the monasteries.
- Due to the current and worldwide status of the recent COVID-19, the monastic community and, thus, the Monasteries of the Meteora region will stop the provision of skirts and shawls to the visitors. Therefore, all visitors are required to be dressed accordingly: Men are prohibited to wear any sleeveless shirt, andshorts above the knee; Ladies are prohibited to wear any skirts above the knee. All previous clothing will deny any visitor’s entry to the monasteries.

Amazing experience! We had two 10-years old children with us that were excited!! We loved walking! Our guide, Dimitris, had so many information to give us about history, monasteries, plants and animals and he was also friendly with the kids. We saw things and monasteries that you cannot see while doing the car tour. We walked a lot and visited one monastery from the inside. Mr. Stathis was so kind and helpful while talking on the phone that he was the main reason I booked that tour. Since we were just us, he was also flexible with the time. And the price so good. Wir können diese Wanderung uneingeschränkt empfehlen! Nicht nur die Besichtigung zweier Klöster, sondern auch der wunderschöne Weg durch das Gebirge und den Wald mit interessanten Erklärungen zu Pflanzen und Tieren waren ein tolles Erlebnis!
