I went on January 3 2020 with my 8 year old son for his first holiday visit to NYC. It was disappointing. The tour guide was ok but a few things that made this not worth the time and dollar. 1. I expected lots of houses with wow lights but it was about 5 wow houses, mostly ok light houses, and many houses with nothing. Not even famous Lucy Spata house ( who started the trend ) had decor- it was already taken down. They shouldn’t do the tour past Jan 1 if houses already take stuff down — but even so most decorated houses we could have found in our Ohio town. 2. The dual German-English switch off was annoying and cumbersome. 3. The tour guide was ok but he offered nearly no commentary on the houses during the actual Dyker heights walking portion. His commentary was only on bus tour travelling in out of Manhattan. 4. The “half day” title is misleading. We were done in 3 hours exactly from 4pm to 7pm. It was good that it only took 45 min to get to Manhattan and we had one hour 15 min to walk Dukes Heights but certainly not 4 hours or half day. 5. The departure was 4:00pm even though my ticket had said 4:15pm. 6. Get a tour that stops at DUMBO near Brooklyn Bridge at the way back for night views — we got a quick drive by on way back but not enough for photo of Manhattan skyline.A snow squall hit just as we were leaving on the bus adding to the Christmas in NYC feel. A snow squall hit just as we were leaving on the bus adding to the Christmas in NYC feel. Despite the personable energy of the guide the back and forth from German to English language commentary was a big distraction. The best surprise was driving back into the city and seeing all of the city lit up. Price and value good!Great trip where memories were made. The lights are amazing and the tour guide was great. Easy access on and off the bus and tour.

The ones that were decorated were pretty but there were many undecorated houses too.
