Our tour guide was Eric, a Portland local and one of the owner/operators of the company. Eric’s knowledge of the lobster/fishing industry definitely added some insider charm to the tour itself. The meeting point was easy to find and we were able to get started a few minutes early since all parties were present. The van was clean and comfortable, and there was a television screen mounted in the front that had additional visuals to accompany the information presented along the route to and from each stop. We visited three lighthouses (Portland Head Light, Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse a.k.a the one that looks like a spark plug, and Portland Breakwater Lighthouse a.k.a Bug Light). All stops allowed for wonderful views and beautiful photographs. We even had the opportunity to enjoy a lobster roll from a food truck parked near the Portland Head Light (it was delicious BTW). Visiting in April was a little before the tourist season was in full swing, but that allowed us to enjoy a smaller tour group. After our tour was over, Eric provided us with restaurant recommendations and other great locations for photo opportunities around the city. If you’re visiting Portland, I highly suggest that you book this tour. You’ll be glad that you did!Eric was great. Gave so much info about the area and the lighthouses. You could tell how proud he is of the city he grew up in and his family. Great day out and learning about Portland and its history.
