Doha Corniche is a waterfront promenade extending for seven kilometers along Doha Bay in the capital city of Qatar.

If you are looking for a wonderful place to shop, dine, explore, or simply sit at one of the many attractive outdoor cafes to watch the world pass by, look nowhere but Souq Waqif in Doha.
For centuries, this location has been a souq for Bedouin (nomads who have historically inhabited the Arabian and Syrian Deserts.) to take the wool and animals to trade for daily necessities. As time passed, the souq started to run down and has almost got to the point of being demolished. Luckily, in 2004, it was decided to preserve this historical site so the entire market area has been renovated and restored according to the traditional Qatari architectural techniques. It’s probably the only traditional souq left in the Gulf.

Our tour with Sajid was a great way to see the city with a local guide. The route was packed with interesting stops and the evening boat ride at the end was a nice way to finish.

We had good time with our guide Mohammad Khan, he was courteous and knowledgeable. Best part was cruise, trying local Qatari food at souq.

A great tour with Mohammad Khan. It gives you a quick taste of Doha and a chance to take some fab photos from the Dhow cruise as the splendid skyscrapers glisten before you. Mohammad was an excellent guide. Informative, fun and took good care of us. We had a quick exploration of the Qatar National Museum (extremely modern and worth a visit to gain an understanding of the region's history), the unique Dhow Boat cruise, a couple of stops for photos, and then visited the main Souq. We learnt about the value of falcons, saw beautiful horses and explored the alleys of the souq. Great value for money and can thoroughly recommend Mohammed Khan as your guide.GertrudeC
