What to expect
Diving in Madeira Aquarium, here you can dive among sharks, rays and morays, always accompanied by a professional and in interaction with your companions. Diving for people with or without diving experience, provision of all equipment, baptism in the Cachalote natural pools, guided tour of the Aquarium and its technical area. Dive in the main tank 6m deep and 500000L of water.

Hi I just wanted to leave you a review after my experience today. You can use it (or any part of it) if it is of any help. Today I embarked upon an amazing experience with Abilio and Michael at the Madeira Nature experience in Porto Moniz. From the outset these two guys works effortlessly and totally together to give myself and another fella an experience that is, quite frankly, hard to put into words. I will try though……… After introductions and explanations of the diving equipment (we had both had some limited diving experiences) we were fitted out and brought over to the natural pools beside the aquarium. Here we were helped into the water, orientated and then guided through a shallow (5m) dive. The pools are amazing anyway but to see them from this angle was even more of an experience. People swimming around above us and fish swimming around in front of us, all the time guided and assisted by Abilio and Michael. This was an exceptional experience in itself but in fact was just a taster for the real deal to come. Next we were brought over to the aquarium where we were given a fascinating tour of behind the scenes (or rather above the tanks!) and it was amazing to see how much effort and skill goes into providing such a stimulating attraction. After our tour we then went into the big tank, one at a time though all the time guided by Abilio, where we got to swim with Stingrays, Sharks, grouper fish, eels and many others that I cannot remember. Waving at the public was an added bonus and freely swimming around in this huge fish tank is an experience I will never forget. Afterwards and after disrobing from all the diving kit, we had a lovely hot shower and a chocolate bar and certificate to round it all off. For the price this is an exceptional and very rewarding experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are lovely, kind, knowledgable and very safe and secure and the facilities/equipment is nothing short of world class. It has been my privilege to do this and it has been the highlight of my holiday and certainly an experience I will cherish for the rest of my Life. We always felt very safe while diving (it was the first time scuba diving for both of us) and it was just a great introduction to the activity. Diving in both the outside pool and the aquarium was amazing - there's even a chance to pet a friendly fish or two :-)It was one of the best days of our staying in Madeira. I totally recommend this activity to everyone. The diver Abilio is such a patient person and great teacher. You don’t need to be experienced, he will instruct you from the very first step in perfectly nice atmosphere:)! You can also dive in the natural pools + you get the certificate.
