Distillery Tour
Overview
For the first part of the tour, head over to the Old Workshop and sit back comfortably in a chair, sipping on your gin and tonic. Hear about the many gin inventions that were born here and the story of the distillery.
Then, make your way to the distillery. Meet and greet the distillers at work and possibly see Gertrude and Emily — the two stills – in steaming action.
To finish the tour in style, be walked through a tasting of four award-winning gin samples in the next room, where you can share your thoughts and feelings about your favorite drink with the group.
Head home with a complimentary miniature bottle of your favorite sample after the tasting.

We did the pea-cocktail sampling tour and it was great. Our tour guide, Jamie was great; entertaining, lively, informative, and very attentive. We learned about the history of the distillery, the history of gin, and got to try 4 different gins. There were only 10 of us on the tour so it was very intimate and we were always able to hear/ask questions. Google maps did have a hard time getting us to the entry of the distillery so I recommend giving yourself a little extra time so you aren’t late.We did the Pickering “Peacpcktails” gin tour. We did the Pickering “Peacpcktails” gin tour. The tour involved a tour of the small distillery and lots of information and demonstration on the distilling process which I found interesting. This was followed by a visit to the companies boardroom with a gin and cocktail tasting session with more talks on the history of gin and a lot of how this links in with Edinburgh and Scotland in general. The group size was small which was good as it made the experience more personal and also the facility is fairly small (in keeping with most gin stills). The guide, Jamie, delivered the tour very well and was very charismatic and interesting. He was knowledgeable and humorous so you could learn about the origins of gin but also enjoy yourself. There was a small gift on departure. Highly recommended. We booked a Distillery Tour as part of our first trip to Edinburgh (to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday). We are so glad we did. We booked a Distillery Tour as part of our first trip to Edinburgh (to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday). We are so glad we did. It was a fantastic afternoon. Jamie, our Tour Guide, was so funny, we never stopped laughing but we learned a lot about gin at the same time. Would thoroughly recommend. I use a wheelchair but there was no problem with accessibility and there are disabled toilets available.
