Following pick-up at your place, we drive to the favela that lives about 100 thous people. Stop at the headquarters of the Community Association and get to know its history and main projects. Visit the radio studio and chat with local residents.
Next, arrive at the Berbéla mechanical shop and admire his art made out of discarded metal scraps that is given life to all sorts of forms.
Go to the house of the sculptor Estevão, known as Gaudí of Paraisópolis. Enter his stone house, full of accessories such as cups, saucers and dishes, which are part of the structure of the house and give us sense of fantasy.

Berbéla builds his works of art from automotive parts such as metal scraps and chemical wastes, giving life to all sorts of material discarded in his workshop. He makes pieces of artwork that few can argue about his talents.

Walk through narrow streets of the center Paraisopolis heading to Paraisópolis Ballet Project. Meet the director and dancer Mônica Tarragó, who will present the project and get visitors to watch a little of the class and meet some students.

After all that, visitors may want to have a superb typical Brazilian food at the charming “Bistro Mãos de Maria” on the rooftop of the community association headquarters in the Favela. (not included in the tour price)

My wife and I toured the Paraisópolis favella with Adi and two local residents. Adi and the other guides and tour were fantastic!! We met the mayor of the favella and had our picture taken with him. We toured the streets and learned how the residents are working to improve their lives. We spent time in the favella home of a artist whose home was ornate and grand and amazing. We had lunch in the favella with our guides and it was delicious! I would highly recommend this favella tour to anyone wanting to gain a better understanding of favellas.
