What an experience and what great guides. We had two: Vangelis and Jim, who were two of the absolutely most knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides we have ever had. There passion for Meteroa was welcome and they really love what they do and interacting with our family. I originally thought two days in the off season would be boring and too long of a stay, but Visit Meteora made me wish to stay another day. I would like to also compliment Antonus who was our driver. He picked us up in Athens and then spent the next 2 days with us. Such a nice and caring gentleman. He, also, was passionate about his town, the monasteries and everything Greece.The tour of Meteora was an excellent. The guides were knowledgable and personable. The Mercedes vans used to transport us were very new and comfortable. The tour of Meteora was an excellent. The guides were knowledgable and personable. The Mercedes vans used to transport us were very new and comfortable. The pick ups were on time and the communication was excellent regarding tour details such as where to get the train, when our pick up would be, etc. There was some overlap between what we saw on the sunset tour and what we saw on the monastery tour, but there were enough differences to make the two tours worthwhile. The hotels in both Kalambaka and Delphi were conveniently located. After being driven to Delphi from the train station approximately 45 minutes away we were on our own, but it was an easy walk to the archaeological site and museum and there were great restaurants across the street with views over the valley. The bus trip back to Athens was longer than expected, but that was partly due to the local bus being late. Overall I was impressed with the professionalism of the tour company.Although we had told them about being seniors and in spite of their assurance we found some of the terrain bit hilly with steep climbs or steep decent down in some places on our hike. The guide however was well versed and kept the group informed of various historic facts about the places includin...
Although we had told them about being seniors and in spite of their assurance we found some of the terrain bit hilly with steep climbs or steep decent down in some places on our hike. The guide however was well versed and kept the group informed of various historic facts about the places including the monasteries that we visited, We were the only 70+ couple in a group of 15 who averaged about 25 years old(!) but were able to keep up with the group. I would recommend the tour and the hike for some incredible views and unique experience. Make sure you take enough water.We already knew well about Meteora's history but our driver was amazing. We already knew well about Meteora's history but our driver was amazing. Excellent English, very good and cautious driver, polite and new best friend of lur 6yo boy. Add to this he was a local and had also a very good knowledge of the local history. He even managed to take us to the monasteries and viewpoints while avoiding the rush lf the big tour groups. Clean and very comfortable car. I recommend using their services any day.Have just done this tour today , thankyou to Jim and the excellent driver !
