I love doing food tours when I travel to learn the local cuisine and see what life is like if I weren’t a tourist, and that is exactly what I got with this tour. I was of course nervous to eat street food on my own which is why the tour was amazing! Every stall from breakfast to desserts was tasty and we learned so much about how the food was prepared. We ended the food part of the tour in a delicious restaurant where the line was out the door to eat kebab but we got right in! On top of the food you’ll see many other things within Old Delhi. The highlights were riding through the narrow streets in a rickshaw pulled by bicycle, the spice market and getting to pet a cobra! Vivek made us feel completely comfortable and added the extra touch of taking us places he knew we’d like. I’d been speaking about wanting to get pajamas made during the day and Vivek went above and beyond to take us to a textile and sewing shop at the end of the tour and I got two pair. He’s amazing!Vivek is a great guide; very knowledgeable and friendly. Takes you around and very accommodating, provides water and a ride to every place. Very good food.

We recently spent a Sunday in Old Delhi with Vivek Handa whom we found through ToursWithLocals. Vivek is great! We spent the day sampling street food, touring on a bike rickshaw, and browsing the markets. Whatever we wanted, Vivek knew just where to find it—from saffron to toe rings to kitchen equipment. Vivek is knowledgeable, savvy, kind, and has a good sense of humor. He is easy to talk with and very attentive to his clients’ interests. For example, when my daughter casually mentioned she was Jewish, he added to our tour an impromptu visit to the only active Jewish synagogue in Delhi—certainly not a requirement for a food tour! You can’t go wrong with Vivek, so look him up! We highly recommend his tour services.
