We started the day at 6.00am. Our guide was Nader and Driver was Ali. We made good progress in the morning with the 4 hour drive one way to the Iasis. Both are young guys with a great sense of humor and gave us appropriate breaks for water and the restroom. Once we got there, Ali took a break and Ahmed took us out in his 4x4 accompanied with Nader. Before going out, we relaxed with some of the best tea I have ever had. If you haven't had it, it's a must! Black tea with a very special preparation process for a week to give it a natural sugary, rose like taste. We stretched our legs and headed into the desert. Ahmed played some great tunes from local artists from his village. All of us were clapping while he was singing. It was a nice way to get us upbeat and excited for the visit ahead 😄 We made several stops along the way with Nader examining the history of the formations and helping us take group pictures. The desert is beautiful and we have a lot of excellent photos for our memories. There are several different formations that we took photos with. Qe stopped for some more special tea with a brief camp in the middle of the desert. We were done at about 4.30pm and came back to a local restraunt for dinner. This was again, some fo the best food we had around Jeremy. Great choices. We are vegetarian which made it equally impressive with the selection. After a long day, we set back with Nader and Ali back to our hotel in Giza. Made it back home tired but happy with another 4 hour drive. It was a wonderful experience and all 3 of these guys made it a great experience. Definitely recommend Emo tours and this tour in particular. We had a blast!Mahmoud Anwar was my today guide for this and he made it such a good experience. The guy is a genuine and free spirited person and is always up for a laugh. The tour was a very adventurous one, stopping off at different places and taking some photos. The drive from Cairo is long but it's worth it as not everyone can say they've been there, especially if you camp over and see the milky way. Tip - take a good cameraOur guides picked us up directly at the hotel very early in the morning, we were offered a very good breakfast! Our guides picked us up directly at the hotel very early in the morning, we were offered a very good breakfast! We have traveled a long road which has deserved what we have discovered! We were taken to a campsite where then, our new driver (he should drive in formula 1 ;) ) took us to the black and white desert, the mountain of crystals and other incredible spots. We were even able to bathe in thermal waters. After a long day we returned to campus to eat a very generous dinner, it was the best dinner we ate during our entire stay in Egypt ! Thanks again and I recommend to everyone! We'll be back with our families!Do yourself a favor- ask for Mahmod Anwar to be your personal guide. Originally, my trip to Egypt was to scuba dive the Red Sea, one of the "7 wonders of the underwater world", with just two days of tours in Cairo. From the start, I was highly impressed with Sayed's efficiency, organization, and extensive knowledge; he truly cared to surpass my expectations and to provide an amazing experience. In fact, I was so pleased that, after scuba diving, I returned to Cairo for three more days of tours with Sayed for the Coptic, Islamic, and Oasis tours. I am so grateful to have had this experience! On my initial tours, I "checked the boxes" on the well-known tourist attractions. However, my additional tours were unexpectedly meaningful and profound as I learned about Egyptian culture and religion. I asked Sayed many questions about Islam to include life for Muslim women and children, and I appreciated that he encouraged my questions and answered openly. I was fortunate to have my Islamic tour on a Friday, and after the conclusion of a Call to Prayer at Sultan Hassan Mosque, Sayed asked the Imam to sing from the Quran. It was beautiful to hear his voice resonate within the dome; when the Imam was finished he said he wishes for Americans to know that Egyptian Muslims are peaceful and loving. On my final day in Egypt, I visited the Bahariya Oasis, Black, Crystal, Agabat, and White deserts by 4x4. The rock formations were breath-taking and the experience magical. I recommend that you take two days to allow for a night of camping under the stars (available through Emo tours- just inquire through their website). Thank you again to Sayed for creating a perfect experience on my final day in Egypt. So, whether you are looking for an expert tour of Cairo to see the main attractions, or seeking a more intimate immersion into Egyptian culture, I 100% recommend Sayed Mahmoud and Emo Tours. MY ITINERARY DAY 1: Cairo- Great Pyramids (inside), Saqqara- Teti and Djoser, Sphinx, and Egyptian Museum. DAY 2: Alexandria- Kom el Shoqafa catacombs, library, and Citadel of Qaitbay. DAY 3: Coptic Cairo- Hanging Church, Abu Serga (Cave), St. George's, Babylon Fortress. DAY 4: Islamic Cairo- Muhammed Ali "Alabaster", Al-Nassir (green dome), Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, and Al Rifai Mosques. Walk of Khan al Khalili in the morning. DAY 5: Bahariya Oasis, Black, Crystal, Agabat, and White deserts by 4x4.Even though it was a long drive to get there it was worth it as the views were great and exploring the white desert was wonderful.
