Nigel was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer my many questions and we went a bit off the beaten track of the usual ghost tours which was great.

I really recommend doing this, it is excellent value for money and a great way to get to know York better and see it in a new light. I booked this for me and my mom. The stories and tour were great and altogether lasted about 1hr 45mins. Nigel has a lot of knowledge about the area and is an amazing storyteller with great recommendations of places to further explore. The tour showed some great places we hadn’t found yet. We chose an evening tour so the streets were a little quieter and it was a little darker which made the streets look even more beautiful when a lot of the bars and restaurants were it up. While we were working around, we passed several other group tours and most of them had 30-50 people. This made us even more glad we decided to book a private tour as I doubt most of them heard what their guide was saying and certainly no chance to ask questions.
