Playa Mia Beach and Waterpark is a fantastic place all on its own. There is a beautiful beach, shady areas, a good pool, a full buffet, and all you can possibly drink. The waterpark is great for kids. To this we added the salsa and dance class (Salsa, salsa, and more salsa) and it was incredible. Our instructor, Chef Lalo, was fantastic. He spent loads of time with us, teaching us how to make 3 different kinds of salsa (pico de gallo, salsa made with roasted ingredients, and guacamole). He was an excellent teacher and answered all our questions. My wife said she did not really like guacamole, but after we made and ate our own guacamole, she changed her opinion. After we enjoyed all our salsa, by itself and with additional snacks they gave us (including delicious taquitos), Lalo taught us all the basic moves of salsa dancing. He was a really good instructor and got us both dancing. We enjoyed our entire experience tremendously, especially because of our instructor Lalo. When we were ready to leave, Julio, our Playa Mia Tours contact, put us in a taxi (included in the tour) to return to our cruise ship. My wife and I definitely recommend this excursion, which we arranged through AAA with Playa Mia Tours.Lalo was a wonderful host chef and was so accommodating and gracious with my elderly parents, and father who had dementia. Lalo was a wonderful host chef and was so accommodating and gracious with my elderly parents, and father who had dementia. This was an excellent experience for the whole family, young and old, to enjoy together. The food we prepared, and the lunch we were later served, was delicious. Great care was taken to make sure our needs and expectations were met. I look forward to recreating the tastes of Mexico at home! We will call affectionately call them "Lalo's salsa's and guacamole"!A great excursion! We made 3 terrific salsas, learned some fun salsa dance steps and enjoyed a yummy lunch featuring our creations! We spent the balance of the day enjoying the pristine beach with terrific amenities and an open bar and buffet.

The Salsa, Salsa, and Dance Excursion was great fun. We made two types of salsa and guacamole. All the ingredients were there and ready for us, and making the delicious salsa was easy with their instruction. Then they provide lunch to go with your salsa. There are plenty of great drinks provided as well. I am not a salsa dance expert at all, but it was a lot of fun. Go, enjoy, and you will not be disappointed.
