Everything about this experience was first class from the pick up at our hotel, the 10 minute bus ride to the location, the formal welcome ceremony, the live demonstrations introducing the guests to Māori life, inclusive activities such as learning some basic Huka and Poi dance, culminating in a show and amazing dinner with many courses spread out so that you can savor each dish. It may be considered expensive, but it was worth every penny. I strongly encourage any visitor to New Zealand to have this experience. You will not regret it.100/10 highly recommend Te Pa Tu! 100/10 highly recommend Te Pa Tu! Brilliant and respectful display and sharing of Maori culture. I loved being invited into their village, being able to ask questions, walk around. Then to be invited into the gathering space where cultural practices in history are explained, demonstrated - and in some parts, we were invited on stage to share in their culture and participate! Dinner was super lovely, we were seated in tables of 10 and served family style. And the fun didn't stop at dinner. It didn't even stop on the bus ride home! Truly an amazing experience and for sure when I come back will I be doing this again!!This was a wonderful experience and a highlight of our time near Rotorua. Absolute must do if you are interested at all in the Maori culture. Such a fantastic presentation and interactive experience.
