Stop At: Porto Katsiki, Greece
Porto Katsiki beach on Lefkada Island is one of the most beautiful Greek beaches. It is also in the top of the list of best beaches in Europe each year. It is situated 40 kilometers southwest of Lefkada Town, the island’s capital city. Porto Katsiki beach looks truly fascinating surrounded by incredible hills which make it accessible only by 80 steep steps descending along the cliff. This is one of the most favorite beaches and it is considered to be one of the island’s major attractions. Porto Katsiki owes its fame to fascinating landscape and most of all, crystal clear blue sea. Golden sandy beach adds a beauty to the overall impression of Porto Katsiki.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Egremni Beach, Greece
Egremni beach is located in the south-west part of Lefkada Island, about 30 km of Lefkada Town, the capital of the island. It is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and in Mediterranean as well. This beach is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece and in Europe as a whole. It is famous for remarkably blue and clear waters and long sandy beach. Egremni beach is of the longest beaches on Lefkada, stretching for more than 2.5 km. Similar to Porto Katsiki beach, Egremni is surrounded by cliffs and as a consequence, not so easy accessible. The nearest village is Athani village, located a few kilometers in the north.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Fiscardo, Fiscardo, Kefalonia, Ionian Islands
Fiscardo village is located 50 km north of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. The village is very much based around its waterfront with many private yachts and small fishing boats. This lovely spot offers nice views to the neighbour island of Ithaca.
This picturesque fishing village is recognized as a traditional preservable settlement as it is one of the few villages that remained untouched from the major earthquake of 1953. Today it is known for its cosmopolitan and warm atmosphere. There is a massive amount of tourism in this small village but it manages to hold its beauty against all odds.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Ithaca, Ithaca, Ionian Islands
Famous all over the world as the mythical island of Odysseus, Ithaca is probably the most remarkable island of Greek mythology! Apart from its mythical essence, though, Ithaka boasts an incredible beauty. Its laid-back character, emerald waters and lush greenery make it a heavenly destination for those who seek relaxation.

Pass By: Papanikolis Cave, Meganisi Greece
Archaeologists believe that the Cave of Papanikolis used to be the hideaway of a submarine. It is replete with many caves. Papanakolis Cave is ideally located on the island of Meganisi, which is a mere 12 nautical miles from Nydri village, Lefkada. The best way to reach the cave is by a boat cruise from Nidri and it takes approximately 45 minutes to reach the cave.
This cave shot into prominence during World War II by virtue of being a secret hideaway for the submarine Papanikolis. The sheer magnitude of The cave is astounding. It is believed that the Papanikolis submarine would tuck up inside this mammoth cave after its blitzkrieg on the Italian armada. First-time visitors will live an awesome experience.
The remarkable Papanikolis Cave is actually the second largest cave in Greece. It is not an authentic sea cave, but a karst cave, and is presently partially inundated by the sea. This cave was much preferred by the ships that would drop anchor inside the cave during spells of inclement weather. This cave could easily accommodate even large shipping vessels with their flagstaff.
Pass By: Skorpios, Meganisi Municipality, Greece
korpios island is located right across Nidri village in Lefkada. Despite its small size, this island has become a true legend due to its impressive history. Verdant and bursting with life, Skorpios has been transformed from a strip of land in an unspoiled Paradise to a hub for jet setters and celebs. And the power horse behind this transformation has been none other than the Greek tycoon, Aristotle Onassis!
Pass By: Madouri, Ellomeno, Greece
Madouri is a small and very green island with large pine trees, which lies east of the larger island Lefkas or Lefkada. It is not far from the coast of Lefkas, opposite the village of Nidri or Nydri. The island is about 400 meters in diameter and overlooks Lefkas and other islands such as Skorpios and Skorpidi.
The island of Madouri has long been privately owned by the Valeoritis family. In the 19th century, the Greek poet Aristotelis Valaoritis grew up there and wrote his poems. He had a beautiful house built here overlooking Nidri and Lefkada. The current owners are his grandchildren. Nanos Valaoritis is another famous Greek writer.

Δυστυχώς έχασα μια μέρα διακοπών…It is an exhausting trip with too much time spent on a crowded boat (been there with Nidri Star 1). It is an exhausting trip with too much time spent on a crowded boat (been there with Nidri Star 1). Although advertised, the stop on Porto Katsiki beach didn’t happen. We were announced on the boat that for a few years already, the boats are not allowed to approach this beach. We stopped instead at Egremni beach where we stayed for about 1h20min. On this beach you need umbrellas because you arrive in the middle of the day. If you don’t have one, the crew rents umbrellas for 5 EUR / day, but this is the only place where you actually need an umbrella (so 5 EUR / day is in fact 5 EUR / hour). The barbecue organized on the boat was a mess. The food was acceptable (2 sticks of souvlaki, 2 slices of bread, a little bit of tomato salad and tzatziki) but the distribution of it was chaotic and ridiculous. The stop to Chefalonia was 50 minutes. You have no time to visit anything. You wait in a queue for everybody to go down from the boat, then you have about 40 min to walk a bit through the small harbor, so you don’t see anything. I would have preferred to stay longer on Egremni beach. The stop to Ithaka is on the water, close to the beach, you can only swim, you are not allowed to actually go on the beach, so people who cannot swim are blocked on the boat. After this stop it follows a long and exhausting trip on the way back to Nidri, during which there are presented some “attractions”, like the cave where the boat enters only with the front part. If you are located on the wrong side of the boat you don’t see too much, because the boat is very crowded. Also, if your seats are in the sunny part of the boat, is terrible. After this long and exhausting trip, we’ve had another bad surprise. The parking where we were advised to leave the car was not for free as it was advertised. We didn’t pay much (6 EUR), but it was unpleasant to find out that we had to pay although we were told that the parking is for free. So I wouldn’t recommend this boat trip.Beaches are amazing, definitively some of the most beautiful in the world. Captain is nice and speak good English. It was worth the value of €35 including lunch and stops to amazing beaches in three islands and also see and hear the story of Papanikolis Caves and Skorpios island. Kefallonia is a beautiful place, I would love to stay a bit longer. We have been on Nidri Star 1. The captain and staff were friendly and entertaining people. Lunch was acceptable. The boat was not over crowded, no long queues to wait for lunch or get on/off the boat. Snacks and drinks were overpriced.
