Ancient Corinth (it took 220 years to cut out the canal), Nemea (monastery built right into the mountain), Nafplio (what a cool place…all of it!), and the Ancient Theater of Epidavros. Our guide, Nikos (he was awesome!!) kept us hopping for 10 hours and showed us so many fabulous places - the Aegean Sea (the photos do not capture the color…it is incredible!) and the fortresses, castles, monasteries, and city centers that surround it have been beautifully preserved for 2500 years and counting. Incredible!! The oldest theater in the world is still going strong - it holds 20,000 guests each night during the play season. We climbed to the nosebleed seats just to check it out and yep…because of the acoustics, we could hear just the same as those on the front row! An off-the-beaten path winery and an “authentic as it gets” Greek cuisine lunch (ordered by Nikos, our guide), and a piece of traditional Greece to take home - thank you for the gift Nikos, rounded out a perfect day.We had a wonderful day with Nikos. We had a wonderful day with Nikos. Nikos picked us up at port in Nafplio and we immediately headed to Mycenae. When we arrived, we were the only ones there. Seeing the site where the Trojan War was planned with no crowds was one of our favorite parts of our two week trip. As the crowds started to show up, Nikos brought us back to Nafplio to see the fortresses and have a fantastic lunch (and pre-lunch ritual). The food was incredible and Nikos was a delightful host. From there we went to Epidaurus to see the theater and the first "medical center." Nikos was an amazing guide. His knowledge of the area, timing of our sites to avoid crowds, and engaging personality made this a really fun day for us and allowed us to see much more than we otherwise might have. We used Eudaimonia Private Tours for a day trip to Mycenae, Epidaurus, & Nafplio (from Athens) & had a great experience! We booked directly through their website approximately 2 months in advance & had great communication via email prior to our arrival. On the morning of the tour, Nikos was promptly waiting for us in the lobby of our hotel. We were on the road early in order to reach Mycenae right as it opened, however we did stop for a quick look at the Corinth canal since it was along the way. Once we arrived, Nikos fetched our entrance tickets, showed us where to meet him once we were finished, then sent us on our way. We did a self-guided tour (via our Rick Steves book), which was enjoyable as it was not yet crowded, then dropped by the museum on our way out. We spent a total of about 1.5 hours there before continuing on to my favorite stop, Nafplio. Nikos dropped us off at the top of Palamidi Fortress to explore (one of the highlights of the day, in my opinion!), then met us at the bottom of the 999 steps to take us to a delicious, local lunch. He had been discreetly asking what we liked to eat/drink throughout the day, so when we arrived at the restaurant, he knew exactly what to order us – I wish I remembered the name of this place because everything was phenomenal. We raved about the olive oil on the Greek salad, so Nikos unexpectedly went to the kitchen & came back with a bottle for us! We then continued on to our last stop, Epidaurus, which was surprisingly not crowded at all. We spent a total of about 1.5 hours there exploring the small museum & walking the steps of the stunning theater before starting the journey back to Athens. We also used Eudaimonia for a private transfer from the airport to our hotel upon our arrival in Athens, as well as from our hotel back to the airport upon our departure. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the gentleman’s name, but he was friendly & arrived on time on both occasions, including a 5:25AM pickup to transport us to the airport – The van was clean, spacious, & way better than taking taxi! We’re so grateful for the hospitality Eudaimonia Private Tours showed us during our time in Athens & would highly recommend them to any couples/families looking for top-notch service & an unforgettable experience!Had a lovely day with Nikos exploring all the sights around Nafplion. Had a lovely day with Nikos exploring all the sights around Nafplion. He took great care of us while making some wonderful suggestions. When we had to split the party due to mobility concerns, he took great care of the half that remained with him. If you want to experience greece as a local, then you need to work with Nikos. We are recommending him to friends coming here in spring as a can't miss tour.We had a great time with Nikos on a day trip to the Peloponnese (Mycenae/Nafplio/Epidaurus). We had a great time with Nikos on a day trip to the Peloponnese (Mycenae/Nafplio/Epidaurus). The sites were spectacular and the tour was very well organized. We had a delicious authentic Greek lunch and Nikos ensured that everyone in our group enjoyed it (a few of us had tricky requirements). He also organized a taxi for our trip back to the airport later in the week with a kind and polite taxi driver. For an easy, fun and efficient way to see lots of beautiful sites in one day, I would definitely recommend Eudaimonia Tours.I can't say enough about this tour! I can't say enough about this tour! This was one of our favourite days during 2 weeks throughout Greece. It was simply wonderful spending the day with Nikos and seeing the highlights of the Peloponnese. It is SO much better having a private tour instead of a large, group tour--this was great value for a much more personalized and authentic experience. We were able to go at our own pace and spend as much time as we wanted at each of the locations. The lunch was AMAZING, and it was a blast chatting with Nikos and sharing stories with him. Communication prior to the trip was also great--he reached out as soon as I booked to arrange the details, and then confirmed everything a couple days prior to the tour. Overall I was just so impressed with this tour group and would not hesitate to book with them again.
