Daniel was able to craft a customized tour for us with rather late notice. We were picked up at our hotel in Positano and toured us south along the Amalfi coast. At our request, he was able to walk us through some vineyards to understand the pergola method of growing wine grapes in Italy. We enjoyed a terrific cooking class, wine tasting and dinner with Vito and Daniel. We learned so much about wines of Southern Italy and particularly the Amalfi area. The food and wine was delightful and a beautiful view of the coast. This was a memorable evening for us in our vacation in Positano. Daniel was also able to provide excellent recommendation and arrangement for a winery visit and lunch in Pompei a few days later. We booked the cooking class plus wine tasting experience and we had an unbelievable day! Daniele was the perfect guide, showing us the Amalfi Coast and then bringing us to Vito and Caterina's special cooking class in what could be described as "heaven". We spent the afternoon cooking under Vito's guidance, then enjoying the fruits of our labor, while taking in the most amazing views from the outdoor kitchen and dining space! The Amalfi Wine Tour and Cooking Class was the best part of my entire trip to Italy! Daniele di Palma was such a delightful and friendly host. He arrived right on time to pick up our large group and was an incredible tour guide. His knowledge of the area was authentic (since he lives there himself) and he kept the entire van laughing the whole ride. He catered the experience to what we wanted to do and stopped at areas we were interested in. The winery itself was beautiful and I learned a lot about the wine making process. But the best part of the day was certainly the cooking class and enjoying our hard work! Chef Vito was patient with such a large group and gave us tasks that we all felt comfortable with. We made a huge menu including Eggplant Lasagna, Gnocchi, Ravioli and Lemon Chicken. One of the members of the group has a serious allergy to dairy and the Chef accommodated and made sure she had something to eat for every course. Daniele paired all courses with the amazing wine we had just learned about. His knowledge of wine was extraordinary and he made the tasting interactive and a true experience for the group. Everything was delicious, the view was amazing and the company unbeatable. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat. We left with an understanding of its history, its people, and its world renowned cuisine - after just spending the day with Daniele. Our experience with Chef Fiore was also unforgettable!
