This is not for everybody, but if you are fit and wanna try something new, this is the thing to do: with climbing on cliffs, swimming at the coast and jumping from rocks, this was one of the most special experience I had in my life, although my climbing background. Keep in mind that it is quite exhausting, so you should be fit, but the tour can always be adjusted to your fitness level, because the tourguides are very friendly and thoughtful. Habe vor kurzem an dem Coastering teilgenommen und muss sagen, dass ich positiv überrascht wurde. Ich hatte zuvor die Erwartung, dass es ganz nett werden würde und dass wir wohl wie eine Art "Action-Wanderung" entlang der Küste machen würden. Es ist aber tatsächlich genau so wie Canyoning, nur eben im Meer. Aktionreich, spannend und ein echtes Erlebnis. Ich kam ca. 5-10 min zu spät, was überhaupt kein Problem war. Kurzer Anruf -> Ok, wir warten. Angekommen, Eqipment angelegt, Besprechung, los gehts! Unser Guide war Manuel. Ein super freundlicher Typ mit viel Fachwissen und Sicherheitverständnis. Er brennt für das was er macht und hat selbst mächtig Spaß an der Sache, was das Erlebnis noch schöner gemacht hat. Zu keiner Zeit hat man sich unsicher gefühlt und nach ca 1 1/2 h waren wir fertig. Gute Belastung und auch machbar für Menschen die nicht DIE Kondition haben. Fit sollte man trotzdem sein, ansonsten könnte es zur Qual werden. Es hat wirklich viel Spaß gemacht und sollte ich irgendwann einmal wieder nach Santa Margharita (Portofino) kommem, werde ich die Tour wieder buchen. My husband and I are both 65+. We do HIIT at Orange Theory 3-4 times per week. We love climbing and try to do at least one Via Ferrata per year. We also do at least 2 Spartan obstacle races per year and we are avid skiers. There is NOTHING on their website that says that anyone over 65 cannot participate in the coasteering. We had even gone to Outdoor Portofino 2 days earlier see if we could arrange to do both the kayaking and the coasteering on the same day because we were staying in Genova, which is a fair distance from the Baia di Paraggi. No one said anything about our ages then. But when we arrived today, we were told by the guide we were too old. He didn’t care to hear about what we are capable of doing, he was not going to allow us to come. Of course, we are supposed to get our money back (there will be another poor review if we are not reimbursed). I hope our erstwhile guide never has to be judged on his age instead of his ability.We actually didn't get to go coasteering because we didn't bring shoes with grip like sneakers. Viator failed to state that we needed to being those shoes in the details for this activity, but Outdoor Portofino were kind enough to not only refund us since we were not advised to bring the shoes and even let us use the other equipment instead in the water. That really made a difference in our day!Beautiful location and fun cliffs to jump in. It was in a nice cove which was great to swim in after. Sara was a fun guide.
