Stop At: Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, State Road 402 (5 miles east of Titusville), Merritt Island, FL 32782
The Refuge is home to hundreds of manatees + friendly dolphins so keep your eyes peeled! Our guides will lead you to the best spots to view wildlife up close. The Refuge also contains over 1000 species of plants, 117 species of fish, 68 amphibians and reptiles, 330 birds, and 31 mammal species, of which at least 14 species are listed as endangered by the state of Florida or by the US federal government. There’s no shortage of wildlife!

We had a great day for our adventure on the water! Our guide was amazing--telling us many details about the area and the wildlife. We did see some dolphins up close and there were plenty of birds and other creatures that we saw. Keep in mind that this activity is physically challenging as it is two hours of kayaking against some winds and currents. By the last 30 minutes we were all getting pretty tired, and we are decently fit teens and adults!The area we launched from in the Indian River Lagoon was so beautiful and peaceful. The Manatee rodeo another guest got during the tour was exciting. Our guide Liz was polite and very knowledgeable and made the whole experience just amazing.
