This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Ojo de Agua, Carretera Santo Domingo Tilgue, Isla de Ometepe Nicaragua
Imagine a place where you could relax under the shade of the tropical forest and bathe in volcanic water, sipping coconut water. This amazing place exists in Ometepe and is called the Ojo de Agua! The Ojo de Agua is located in the community of Santo Domingo, in the municipality of Altagracia, Ometepe Island.
The water from this natural pool, known under the name of Ojo de Agua, comes directly from the Concepción Volcano. Because it is volcanic water, it is very rich in potassium, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, and sodium. All those chemical components have properties that help diminishing fever, muscular pain, stress, some allergies, and some people say that they even help rejuvenate!
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Laguna Charco Verde, Isla de Ometepe Nicaragua
The natural reserve Charco Verde is a protected area located between the two volcanoes of Ometepe, at the bottom part of the island. The area encompasses a lagoon, forest, and a beach.
The lagoon is called Laguna Verde (Green Lagoon) and it is closed off from the lake by only a thin strip of land. The lagoon provides a shelter place for many birds.
The beach of Charco Verde is one of the best beaches on Ometepe. The quiet and rather private beach called Bancon is perfect for swimming and relaxing. You can hike through the forest to this beach and back to the entrance of the reserve, which will take around one hour if you do not stop at the beach. During the hike, you can enjoy nature and you can also observe the mainland which is visible on the horizon from this side of the island.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Punta Jesus Maria, Isla de Ometepe Nicaragua
Punta Jesús María is the most western point of Ometepe. A narrow strip of sand stretches out into Lake Nicaragua, which can reach as far as 1 kilometer into the lake during the dry season. You can walk on this strip of sand, with water splashing in from both the left and the right. During the raining season, however, the water level of the lake rises and this strip of sand can totally disappear.
This point is famous for its spectacular sunsets. When the sun sets late in the afternoon, the sky turns orange and you can enjoy this spectacle from the small restaurant that is located at Punta Jesús María called Restaurante Linda Vista. You can also see the mainland on the other side of the lake, including the Mombacho Volcano close to Granada.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Museum El Ceibo, Hacienda El Refugio, Moyogalpa, Isla de Ometepe Nicaragua
Moses David Ghitis Rivera (Creator and Founder) began at age 12 (1976) to collect banknotes, coins and archaeological pieces which when his parents cultivated the land, agricultural implements unearthed such pieces, so they chose to collect and protect the Cultural Heritage of the Island of Ometepe sharing its collections with the public, transforming the rooms of a house into what are today Numismatic and Precolombino Museums, being inaugurated the 31 of March of 2007. This initiative was supported by friends who have donated pieces from different parts of the Island.
Ceibo became the only pre-Hispanic museum on the island of Ometepe and one of the largest museums in Nicaragua with the largest collection (it has a collection of more than 1, 500 pre-Columbian pieces, which are in permanent exhibition) and more recognized in Nicaragua.

During my stay in San Juan Del Sur (@Eden on the Chocolata) I wanted to tour Ometepe. Upon researching the tours I was thinking I didn't have many options as I was traveling alone as well as departing from a different location from the standard packages. I contacted Next Adventure Nicaragua on the off chance they could figure something out, and as I was wanting it basically the next day I wasn't very hopeful. I got a response within an hour that addressed not only my solo travel status but the fact I wanted to leave from a different location and in basically less than 12 hours. A tour with every single stop, transport, entry and exit fee taken care of was created for me in that short time I was utterly delighted! My guide, Carlos Alvarez arrived early the next morning in our transportation to the ferry. From that point on everything was 100% taken care of. It can be overwhelming and confusing especially if you do not speak Spanish anytime you have to enter any mode of transportation, facility, beach, business- it was all taken care of. When we reached the island ferry port, our transportation for the day awaited our arrival. The land and the scenery are majestic there really is no way a picture can convey that sort of visceral beauty. My guide Carlos Alvarez's knowledge about the history, wildlife, natural wonders and culture was vast. As we went through the wildlife reserve he and our driver Jorge had so much knowledge about every tree, plant, animal.....it was so educational and impressive. Jorge had eagle eyes and repeatedly basically had to labor to point tiny things out that I 100% would have never noticed..... a snake that looks exactly like a branch..... A tiny underground trail of insects.... it was awesome. They both also had a lot of knowledge about the uses and origins of tons of everthing in the reserve. The museum was so interesting. So many ancient items with priceless historical value. A young lady named Meylin guided me through the collection and had so much knowledge about every single piece. My experience and the service I received from Next Adventure Nicaragua as well as the knowledge Carlos, Jorge, and Meylin shared was impeccable. I couldn't have asked for a more comprehensive experience with every single step taken care of. Next Adventure Nicaragua gets a million stars out of a million from me!I had the best time on this tour! The communication from the guide beforehand was excellent, I was picked up and dropped off at my hotel, and the trip itself was amazing. The guide was super knowledgeable and the island is incredible. Would 100% recommend.
