We used this hop-on, hop-off bus service while in Dublin on September 7 and 8. We chose them because of our good experience with them while visiting San Antonio, TX last year; we will not be using them again after our experience in Dublin. Our first driver and friendly and knowledgeable. However, when we hopped back on at a scheduled stop, we found our second driver rude and indifferent. We sat up top to enjoy the sights, and noticed right away that he did not play the narration as we traveled along the route passing two of the sites. He abruptly pulled off the road, not at a scheduled stop, and we heard loud talking and yelling. We thought perhaps there was a dispute with a customer. We sat for at least 10 minutes with the loud talking continuing; easily heard by every passenger on the bus. As he pulled out onto the road, the loud, angry talking continued as did the lack of commentary. He went only a few hundred feet and pulled off the road again as the loud yelling and talking continued. We sat for 5 minutes before we finally decided we had had enough and we were leaving the bus. As we got down to the first level, we looked at a passenger who reported "he is taking and making personal phone calls; it is so unprofessional". And indeed, we saw and realized that the loud voice and yelling we were hearing was the driver. We eventually made our way to the Dublin office to complain, but found ourselves ignored; not greeted or acknowledged in anyway; so once again we left. Later that day, we decided to try it again; we lodged a complaint with that driver and he too was indifferent. I would not recommend this company. Rather, use BigBus Dublin. They have better buses and an app that you can use to let you know when to expect the next bus instead of just standing there and hoping for the best. The frequency of the buses wasn’t nearly enough. We only got off twice as a result as we only had one day in Dublin so it didn’t make sense to spend so much valuable time waiting around. I tried to call the number on the bus stop sign to see if there was an issue, but it rang out. It’s frustrating that when the bus turns up it’s packed and we can’t get a seat up the top outside. May as well just get the local bus. We asked the driver about the frequency and even though the website says 15-20 minutes he said it was 30 minutes which I wish we knew beforehand because we would have gone elsewhere. A bus tracker would also be helpful so you make more efficient stops. The other hop on hop off buses were more frequent and less busy so I’d recommend spending the extra €1 and go with them…Big Bus and Do Dublin. Our drivers were very helpful. We had one person on a scooter and we were pleasantly pleased with the way they handled the situation. The information on the tour was also great and a relaxing ride.

I always buy a hop on/off bus ticket when I arrive in a new city as a way to familiarize myself with the city (and get over jetlag). I've never had a bad experience until the hop on/off in Dublin. The buses don't run frequently enough and I would suggest using another company. The green Dublin bus runs every 30 min, the Big Dublin bus (burgundy) runs every 20 min. This hop on/off runs every 40-45 min. I eventually walked to a city bus stop, paid 2.60 euro, and took the city bus to my next destination. We were waiting over an hour. Frequency we were informed was approx 20-25mins. We ended up walking in the end. We go green bus, whilst we waited at least 4 went by.
