Overview
Take a detour off the beaten path, and explore the flavors of Chicago’s vibrant West Side with Bobbys's Bike Hike, America's longest running city bike tour company! This 4-hour guided food and bicycle tour is the perfect way to learn more about how Chicagoans really live, and taste authentic Chicago dishes along the way. You’ll start by tasting delicious rock and roll burgers in the historic Fulton Market district. You’ll then head to Ukrainian Village for traditional Polish pierogi, Wicker Park for a taco ranked top 50 in the world, and Lincoln Park for toffee and ice cream. The tour finishes with a chocolate tasting in Old Town. You’ll learn the history of these beautiful neighborhoods and the tradition behind each of the dishes sampled. The tour does a good job of keeping you as much out of traffic as possible, cycling through some wonderful, quiet neighborhoods. Great opportunity to eat your way through several Chicago neighborhoods by bike. Gabe was a friendly, informative guide, the places we tried were uniformly terrific, and I appreciated learning about each neighborhood and its food history, be it a heavy metal bar or a Ukrainian deli. You cover a lot of ground, but it was nice to exercise a bit between the courses, and the distance between each stop was just the right length. I'm late middle aged, but had no problem at all, so this is a tour for everyone. I also appreciated the accommodation to me as a vegetarian, and both I and my nonveg partner enjoyed all the selections. The tour finishes up biking on the lake front. Highly recommend this tour.
