This was a good tour with Eduardo as our guide. His English was both good and clear; he had a deep knowledge of the city and he was eager to share it with us. The van was very spacious and clean. Eduardo 'inverted' our tour, if you will, so we did the end-stuff first and the first-stuff last. Great for avoiding crowds by and large. This meant we apparently missed a group of locals doing a five-finger discount at the Emerald Shop, but that might have been excitement we didn't need! Cartagena is a beautiful city and Eduardo told us so much--I wish we'd had more time than our short port call. The general manager of the place, Walter Garcia, seems like a good guy but his initial quote for the tour was quite high--he wound up coming down from $110pp for four hours' touring to $60pp (much moreso the market rate). I'm not sure if he misunderstood my original request, but the moral of the story is to negotiate.We organized our private tour via email with Walter prior to our arrival. We organized our private tour via email with Walter prior to our arrival. We were on a cruise and their options were not agreeable with us so lucky for us we found Walter. We arrived and were met at the port. Rico was our tour guide. Rico spoke excellent English, confirmed what we were going to do and off we went. Rico has been doing this for a long time and his knowledge and excitement sharing information about his beautiful city made our choice that much more satisfying. As we traveled to la Popa, Castillo San Felipe, the sculpture of a pair of old shoes and the Reclining Fat Lady sculpture, the walled city, carriage ride and a variety of churches he explained it all. Always had a smile and we believe he knows 60% of the population of Cartagena as he was always shaking hands and chatting with his many friends and acquaintances. None of this took away from our sightseeing. My wife can’t walk great distances and in the walled city he pushed her in a wheelchair. He wouldn’t let me share in the pushing. We felt safe touring the city and other attractions with Rico. Street venders were aggressive in areas just trying to make a living and a polite No Gracias handled the situations gracefully. Traffic is hectic and I was a little nervous, time wise but Rico had it under control. We only had four hours on shore (NOT ENOUGH), and Rico was very much aware of this and returned us to the ship on time. I would highly recommend Guianza Express Tours. When we return this will be our tour company and Rico will be our guide.
Our guide Nico and driver were great. They really gave us a complete tour of Cartagena that made the most of the time we had available. They really made us feel at home.

We were a group of 3 people, who thoroughly enjoyed the private city tour. The guide was informative and kind. The vehicle was air conditioned and comfortable. Most of all, we avoided the crowds and were able to see the sights that we preferred.
