Come sailing with us and discover the stunning scenery and amazing wildlife of the beautiful bay of islands.
Help to set sails, sit back and relax as the sails catch the breeze, surrounded by deep blue water, vivid green islands and diverse wildlife, sailing on Carino NZ our 50ft catamaran is the best way to experience the stunning bay of islands.
Watch wild dolphins in their ocean habitat. We are only yacht licensed to view wild dolphins in the Bay. We are conscious of the need to protect the dolphins and respect their habitat. Interaction with the dolphins is at the dolphins’ invitation.

While we are sailing, watch for our local little blue penguins, the world’s smallest penguin, our crazy diving gannets, and other ocean birds.
An island stop is included, where you get to explore a historic scenic island and snorkel the beach. Includes Kiwi style bbq lunch aboard Carino NZ.

Midden januari 2020 hebben we met Carino Sailing & Dolphin charters een zeiltocht gemaakt door de Bay of Islands. Fantastisch georganiseerd. De boot is niet zo groot dat je je een nummertje voelt. Goede voorzieningen aan boord. Heerlijke dekken om in de zon te liggen/zitten, maar ook voldoende schaduwplekken. Veel uitleg over de omgeving. Na een paar uur varen, gingen we aan wal op een prachtig eiland (zwemmend of met een bootje) en konden daar wandelen naar een mooi uitkijkpunt of snorkelen. Terug op de boot was er een heerlijke BBQ met broodjes en worstjes. Aanrader!!!A fabulous day out with an equally fabulous knowledgeable host. Exceeded all expectations for views, wildlife and comfort. We packed so much into our day! Walk, snorkel in private lagoon, Dolphins and Orca! We were super lucky. Can't rate this day out enough. Vanessa and her crew make this day an amazing experience.. didn’t see dolphins and it really didn’t matter… we snorkeled with fish and rays… soaked up the sun and had a lovely relaxed day!!

What a fantastic day out sailing in the Bay of Islands. Our family of five - three daughters 9, 7, 7 all thoroughly enjoyed our time with Captain Vanessa and Wayne on Carino. We were hoping to see dolphins (but not expecting to) but what a show we got on our return sail to Paihia when a pod of bottle nose dolphins entertained us with their top notch show of leaps and flips. Vanessa and Wayne are super knowledgeable and respectful of the local wildlife, especially the dolphins, and genuinely care about protecting their ocean habitat. Skip the hole in the rock and the super fast boats and jump on board the Carino.An absolutely stunning day on the water. Beautiful blue skies and not a cloud to be seen. An absolutely stunning day on the water. Beautiful blue skies and not a cloud to be seen. My wife and I were 2 of the 4 passengers. The passion and knowledge of marine creatures that Captain Vanessa and crewman Wayne displayed was wonderful. The catamaran was a great platform to watch the wildlife. Sitting on the trampolines at the bow was the place to be. We saw Blue Penguins, Dolphins (with 7 week old calf), Gannets, Fairy Terns, Buller's Shearwater, Cormorant, Mako Shark and Hammer Head Shark during the cruise. Had a visit to Moturua Island and walked the track to the top of the hill where Haikai Pa used to stand. This has an old WWII lookout post at the top. Had a nice BBQ lunch (they do a vegetarian option) and sampled a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. This is a brilliant way to spend approximately 6.5 hours cruising the Bay of Islands. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys seeing wildlife in its natural habitat. We will do this again when we return to Paihia.
