This is a perfect tour for those who do not have time to stay close to the Mekong like my boyfriend and I. Our tour guide Max was one of the best tour guides we have ever had while travelling. He was always smiling, full of knowledge, helpful, and accommodating. I can not speak highly enough about our experience. Max promptly picked us up from our hotel in good spirits starting off our day with amazing energy. We rode along the Mekong, ate local fruits and dishes, took a bike ride thru a local village, and even had a surprise canoe ride. We were sad to be dropped and have to say goodbye. Thanks again Max!My guide was Dat. He was particularly forthcoming in discussing how the Vietnam War and Vietnamese culture—including food and language—affected the lives of his family. He also assisted in picking fruit in the farm's orchard. Considering that it was a private tour, it generally felt more like a family member was showing us around Cai Rang Floating Market and the orchard. My friend and I had a fantastic day out of town with our Tour Guide Tu! The fruit and vegetable market on the water is very vibrant. We find it fascinating when people display the varieties of fruits they are selling on their boats. Additionally, how a large number of fruits can be carried on a very small boat. To fully understand how floating markets operate, I strongly advise that you travel with a tour guide and small boat.We had a great time together and he was kind and helpful. We got together early, picked up three other guys, and began a wonderful day on the river (visiting the market, cocoa farm and noodle factory). One of the highlights of our trip through Vietnam without a doubt.
