Richard was really excellent - tremendously knowledgeable and informative, perhaps not surprisingly, given that he has a degree in history. He even managed to read some inscriptions in Hebrew! Another excellent tour with City Unscripted following others than have been equally good and all very reasonably priced. I am a big fan and it will be my first port of call at any new city.
We had a great tour with Agnes. Very friendly, informative and personalised tour. This was a great way to see the city.

Richard was flexible, informative, and entertaining as he lead eight of us on a 4 hour private tour. We had proposed an ambitious tour through the Jewish Quarters to City Park and back. However, as we approached City Park and began to flag, he adjusted our plan so that instead of walking back to the hotel we took the underground, which he had told use we should experience, back to city center and closer to our Hotel. Our party peppered Richard with questions and discussions about how Budapest compared to other cities, the origins of the Hungarian language and the Ottoman influences on Budapest. As a history teacher Richard kept the conversation going with interesting insights. We had a physicist amongst use who was ecstatic to hear that Edward Teller went to High School nearby and oohed and awed over the plague on the school listing other Noble laureate scientists who attended the school. Richard knew all the names and the history of the school and scientists. As usual with Viator, arranging the tour, communicating with Richard before hand to customize the tour and meeting up with and being dropped off at the hotel went smoothly and easily. Our guide was cheerful and eager to please. Sadly he was 15 minutes later to arrive. He clearly did the work as a hobby and as he said” it helps me improve my spoken English. Perhaps not the smartest of comments. Our guide was cheerful and eager to please. Sadly he was 15 minutes later to arrive. He clearly did the work as a hobby and as he said” it helps me improve my spoken English. Perhaps not the smartest of comments. His historical knowledge of the city was really dismal and our guiding was really little more than directional. A guide book would have been just as useful. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our outing though shall employ p[roperly accredited guides in future as this was really poor value.A great Guide Full of stories about the city, with deep knowledge about the local history but funny and clever! We walk for four hours in Pest side of Budapest with amazing chat. Highly recommended!

My husband and I booked a private tour with Krisztian and couldn’t have been happier with that decision. He met us in the lobby of the Ritz Carlton and did not seem to mind that it took us a few minutes to come down. He greeted us with a warm smile and an encouraging word about the tour we were about to go on. From the moment we walked out the door until the tour was finished he over flowed with fun and interesting facts. It was like having a friend along with us and not just a guide. We truly appreciated his upbeat manor, enthusiasm and sense of fun, not to mention his vast knowledge. If you are able to book him for a tour, do it. Your visit to Budapest will be better because of it.
