Stop At: Tiroler Bier Brauerei, Egger-Lienz-Strasse 3a, Innsbruck 6020 Austria
Our first stop on the tour is the Tiroler Bier brewery in the south of Innsbruck.
From our meeting point in front of the Innsbruck market hall, we take the tram in the direction of Bergisel and get off at the Stubaital train station. After a short walk of about 10 minutes, we reach the brewery where the brewer Niklas is already waiting for us for the tour. In just under an hour he explains the process of brewing beer and the history and philosophy of Tyrolean beer. Afterwards there is a tasting of 2-3 different beers and various by-products of the brewery such as beer liqueur, beer brandy, beer vinegar and whiskey.
Then we walk back to the station and take the tram to the second brewery.
Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes
Pass By: Altstadt von Innsbruck, Innsbruck Austria
As we pass by the tram, we see various sights in Innsbruck's old town, such as Maria-Theresien-Strasse with the Anna Column, the Golden Roof and the Ferdinandeum State Museum.
Stop At: Bierfabrik Innsbruck, Viaduktbögen 25, 6020 Innsbruck, Austria
The tram takes you almost right to the door of the Innsbruck beer factory, which has found a home in the Bogenmeile. In one arch is the taproom with the brewing kettles, in the other arch the beer is stored until it is consumed.
There will be a short tour of the brewery with information about the founders and the concept followed by a tasting of the different beer styles. A small afternoon snack is also served.

Vicky was our guide and she was excellent with very good English. We were escorted by Vicky onto a tram to visit two small breweries in Innsbruck. The first was the Tiroler Bier Brauerei Baumgartner where we met the Master Brewer, Niklas. Niklas explained to us in very good English, the process of beer brewing. We then had a tasting (with pretzels) and also had a chance to sample other products brewed/distilled on this site. The second brewery was Bierfabrik. This is a very new brewery inside a bar, whose Master Brewer had a very clear vision of the product he was producing. Sorry I can't remember his name. It was interesting talking to him and hearing about the journey he had had setting up a new brewery whilst Covid was raging throughout the world. We liked the beer and the pretzels. This was such an interesting tour and we highly recommend it to everyone even if they are not beer drinkers.
