Great day trip from Vienna. The guide met us there and then did a very detailed walking tour through the historic area. I would suggest going on Friday or Saturday since the Return Catamaran schedule is two hours later than the early week, so you get a couple extra hours to walk around and shop, gives you more than enough time to see the castle with those extra hours. The tour guide was amazing, but he had to give the same tour in 3 different languages and it slowed the tour down.

If you want to travel from Vienna to Bratislava, take the yellow Regiojet bus. Comfortabele trip, cheap (only €7), free drink included, wifi on boardVery small town with very little attraction and very little things to do. A few hours should be well more than enough. Unless you are passing by to Budapest or to Vienna , may not be worth to go there purposely to visit such a small town.
