This tour is a must do when you are traveling to the beautiful city of Bordeaux. It is perfect for those with little to no knowledge, as well those who are seasoned in the wine world. Our day started with a wonderful lecture/tasting, followed by a delicious lunch and then off to tour two beautiful vineyards of St. Emilion. Our guide Remi was extremely knowledgable and able to answer any and all questions our group had. His english was very clear and his enthusiasm and passion made this day amazing. Would recommend this tour to anyone, it was truly a wonderful day. Plenty of wine and food provided all day long! Our day started out with a lesson on how to distinguish between wines and it was unexpectedly informative. Our day started out with a lesson on how to distinguish between wines and it was unexpectedly informative. One of the coolest lessons on wine while drinking wine with a fabulous charcuterie. Our guide was passionate and spoke English very well. We then visited St. Emilion and tasted some delicious vino. We also got a tour of the old town there. This company was super accommodating and helpful as they also made suggestions and even helped call some wineries for the next day so my husband and I could go taste on our own. Thank you to all the staff that made our trip to Bordeaux so memorable!Wine Class ,History, Vineyard, St-Emilion We had amazing time, the Wine class (tasting), was a real eye opener for the hole wine culture. Wine Class ,History, Vineyard, St-Emilion We had amazing time, the Wine class (tasting), was a real eye opener for the hole wine culture. Remi the guide has a broad view that include vast knowledge in history of the region and the wine culture. The vineyard tour was really interesting, and we were able to see the different between 2 chatos. We finish the tour in the village of St-Emilion, a must-see place. We only had one fully day in Bordeaux, and chose to fill it up with this tour. What a great choice that turned out to be! We only had one fully day in Bordeaux, and chose to fill it up with this tour. What a great choice that turned out to be! You meet at their location where you learn about how to taste and characterize wine flavors (we just couldn't quite characterize the black currant scent properly). They served a nice lunch and then we headed out to visit two wineries in St Emilion. Both wineries were great and, despite pretty constant rain, we got a good overview of how they worked, a sense of the history and uniqueness of each location. A tour of the town of St Emilion itself, with its beautiful medieval architecture, capped off a very fulfilling day. Our guide, Remy, was great and had no problem providing us an English-language tour. Highly recommended. Just make sure you allocate the entire day, as we didn't get back until well into the evening. This tour was exceptionally well done. The day started with a two- hour wine tasting class. This tour was exceptionally well done. The day started with a two- hour wine tasting class. The guide reviewed all of the Bordeaux wine regions - discussing what made them different and how the local conditions effected the wine. She also introduced the group to wine blending to achieve different tastes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very clear in her presentation. Although we were generally familiar with the concepts she was discussing, her presentation pulled a lot of things together, but in the context of what was happening in Bordeaux. Our lunch was a typical, light French meal - fresh green salad and a very nice quiche - and wine, of course! The afternoon was filled with visiting the quaint village of St Emilion and two upscale wineries. The village was charming, with beautiful views of the countryside. It’s close proximity to Bordeaux makes it a tourist magnet - lots of tourist in town - but it retains much of its old world charm. The underground church is wonderful to see if there is an opportunity. We had one hour on our own, which is not much, but enough to get a flavor of the place. The two wineries were excellent. The staff at each location was well informed and gracious. There were opportunities to walk out into the vineyard to taste the grapes, see the fermentation process, and storage in the cellars - one cellar being a limestone cave! What made the trip truly exceptional, however, was our guide for the day - Matilda. She was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the wine business. She spoke excellent English. But most importantly, her love of wine and people just blossomed throughout the day. She was engaging, warm, funny, and completely lovely! Without a doubt she was the heart and sole of the day! We highly recommend this tour. It is part of a number of tours put on by a young, enthusiastic and very professional group of people.
